I've always liked old Roamers, Rados and Titonis for some reason. Probably because they're well made, good looking and cheap. There's cracking looking Roamer Searock in the for sale section right now.
Damn....... the cat is out of the bag
I've got a few Oriosa divers, they can be very good value for money. But be aware that some are much better than others as they used both stainless steel and plated cases.
Try and pick up the stainless steel autos, and you wont go wrong.
How about an original Glashutte?
Here's a Sixties (definitely not for sale!)
And a pair of Seventies (I could probably be persuaded to part with one of them...!)
Lots of really nice 60s/70s gold watches are getting scrapped thesedays, which is a shame. If the watch isn`t a good name and isn`t in tip-top condition, it's scrap. Sad but true.
Every collector worth his salt should own at least one vintage gold watch. Doesn`t have to be a top name, any movement put in a gold case was generally a good 'un. A classic 9ct gold slim hand-wound watch with a silvered dial looks superb......everyone should own one.

Lost of seikos. Depends on the style you like and your definition of cheap though.
West End Watch co never fail to amuse.
Take a look at Roamer Stingray, Anfibio, Rockshell and Mustang. Here you get quite a lot for your money.
Best regards

There are plenty of watches out there without the name power to get you a vintage watch at a reasonable price. For instance, a Certina Chronolympic watch can also be found as a Mido or Technos for less money. Good luck with the hunt
I've always rather liked the Rado 'horse' series. They were regularly available at about £45 to £55 but I haven't seen one for a while now.

Gold watches would seem to be the key. Any number of gorgeous Omega De Villes for example. Huge supply, low demand, hence good prices. Still serviceable by Omega Bienne too. This old ( 1970 ) one of mine was serviced at Omega Bienne in 2010.
Lots and lots of steel Seamasters of similar vintage available too. I have an appreciation of the vintage steel Seikos too. The King Seiko and Lord Matic, at different prices, give a very good in-house movement with top quality dial and hands too.
Certified Chronometer KS, about £400 :
Lord Matic, about £50 :

Some very nice examples there .
I shall add CWC NOS to the list
These two I would call cheap, the 6139 (blue) under 100GBP and the ufo around 130. Wellmade and lovely!
Not really my thing, but had a look on Ebay, restricting my search to "vintage" in "watches" with a maximum current price of £67.
Some nice Favre Leubas, a Mortima diver, Weingartens, Fortis & a Smiths to be seen. Loads of "not known to me" brands too.
Good hunting!

Jim.
Certina DS's are great IMO. Classic design, solid, very robust and ingenious shock protection, easy to work on as well.
These 2 cost less than £70 each.

Seiko Sportsman (under 100$):
Some Girard Perregauxs can still be had for reasonable money, I can't remember now how much I paid for mine but it was less than $200.
