I bought one to flip.
The back:
Do note that it says "MOV'T JAPAN" which I usually take to mean that the rest of the watch is made elsewhere.
However, the tag begs to differ:
Myself, I think the tag is incorrect. What do y'all think?
I believe the original distributor was the Citizen Watch Co, USA.
I don't know where's it's made but thanks for reminding me I have one. Wearing it this morning after seeing this thread last night.
Its funny how the mere mention of a watch you own but have not worn in a while gives you the urge to put it back on the wrist. Also wearing this nice Citizen diver this morning. Nice and light on the wrist and extremely comfortable. One piece case is also lovely.
Karl, thanks for the link . . the plot thickens! This one also says "JAPAN MOVT" on the dial.
Makes sense though, why have two dial designs for the same watch if one does the job and does not lie?
It's kind of marine mammal looking. No idea how it opens, perhaps a carpenter's chisel under the medallion . .
More evidence (for adzman808 to comment on ;-)
From a similar, but more seriously diver's, watch (Citizen Aqualand). It just says "JAPAN", as you can see.
Now I must go to my eBay listing and get busy with Photoshop's "Fuzzy Ebay" brush . . .
