The second shot is a cracker. For me I'd go sepia with a dab of contrast. But that's me.....

Thanks very much indeed, Bob. Please feel free to download it and adjust (the same applies to any of my images, it is good to see other viewpoints).

Here it is simply with the sepia filter added and contrast cranked up a bit.

That's just as I imagined it Matthew, just enough in the shadows to see the face of the subject.

Thank you, I was killing time in a very hot [for me] Madeira while wife and daughter swam with dolphins. I was taken by the black and white stripes that were every where, faint sun rays and the fact that she was a street artist were a bonus.

I don't shoot much street, at least not in the truest sense, although I do shoot a fair bit of urban landscape type stuff, which often includes people...

These are probably the closest to street photography that I keep in my portfolio...

Yesterday in Rome. One hour and 1.5 km walk, enough to take some nice pictures...

Love the tones and lighting in the 2nd shot z. At the moment the only reason I would change any of my bodies would be for improved performance at higher ISOs, which your camera looks to handle nicely. However, 61 next year, so a change to a smaller/lighter format may yet force my hand.

    Street Photography from TZ members?

    Thanks Bob,

The X1 (& my old D-Lux4) both seem to handle high ISO nicely.

The ‘High contrast B&W’ setting (used here & probably all my B&W pics) is also my preferred film mode on both. I’ve even made a custom mode on my Canon DSLR to try to replicate it.

It is a wonderful look for your images. The icing on the cake in the last shot is the poster of the girl in the background.
