I you can explain why so much interest in its worth ... then I'll tell you what it's worth. What it is worth and what you can get for it will not necessarily be the same figure. Gold plates are hard to shift.

I haven't seen any other threads like this, so I hope this doesn't break any rules.
I've got a small gold (gold-plated? Doubt it's solid gold!) automatic Maurice Lacroix that I bought in my early 20s in Holland. I never wear it now (and I've got no plans to sell it) but I am curious to find out more about it, and especially what it's worth. Anybody recognise it and can hazard a guess to its value?
Day at 12 o'clock and date at 6 o'clock.
No idea whether I've got box & papers or anything so please assume I haven't. :(

THIN is the new BLACK
£80
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
It's just idle curiousity. I never wear it, but should I cherish it for its value or sling it in a drawer with other old watches I've got?Originally Posted by abraxas
Is this a geniune estimate or simply what you'd pay for one? ;)Originally Posted by seikopath

small , gp , ML - none of these are exactly great selling points . Put it this way - you're not going to retire early
Personally , I wouldn't give you £25 quid for it but taste is such a personal thing ...

It's certainly worth less than £200. They don't sell on ebay when priced at £200 as a buy it now.
If you put it on ebay as an auction, it'll probably make £120.
If you put it on SC, it'll probably sell at £80-£100.
although i'd agree with the others at £70-£80, i actually really like that, good smart basic dress watch.

That's fine. Thank you and the others who've confirmed the same thing. :)Originally Posted by seikopath
There's no way I'd choose this watch if I was buying one again, but I was in my mid 20s, my wedding ring was gold and I was a skinny runt so this looked quite appropriate! It looks quite nice on my wife's wrist, so perhaps she'll start wearing it. At least we don't need to be too precious with it.
Sadly it will be one of those watches that falls into the bracket of quite expensive and in vogue when new, styles change, and some brands don't do so well on the secondhand market. I was going to suggest letting the better half wear it, but you beat me to it
Brand new ML autos in steel can be had for around 500, so I would venture closer to 100-175 rather than 80. Just my thoughts
90 is my guess.
Bought in the Netherlands???
Nowt, it's probably a fake........ :D
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
