The rendering looks good with the blued hands. Still not sure about the new sized hands, but they look less wrong in 3D - probably because the minute hand diamond appears to be the same height as the roman numerals, just offset slightly. However, it may look more correct from this angle because of parallax - to be sure, I think a few more angles are needed.

Like them both, but prefer the black hands version which is classy. Would be classier at 40mm though.
This is getting very close to "very good" though not my choice of colour for the strap, the blue(d) hands are a significant improvement

I like the idea of special made hands for this watch. Just would make them delicate enough to suit the appearance and character of rest of the watch
And if blued they should be not chemicallyl blued The only way to go on a beauty of this caliber is blue heated hands 8)

I also 'thought' about the hands, but not for long. I go with the distinctive. It's actually a very good design. It's not easy to be different and not look out of place.
+1 the blue hands rock.
Will the hands be lumed at the ends and the dial on the cardinal points, or will you go fully 'dress' and not lume at all? I'd say, go dress. It's fashionable these days.

Mounted in three-tier box, push-catch for lid and lock for upper half. Upper half has a strut limiting opening to 90 degrees. On the front of the upper half is screwed an ivory round tablet inscribed 'Ferreira' Lisboa 1895'. The box fittings are standard, with flush handles on the sides, brass gimbals and a ratchet winding key. The push-catch and lock are surrounded by shaped brass inserts. The up-and-down dial, below XII, is marked in Arabic numerals in 8-hour intervals up to 56 and is marked 'UP' above 0 and 'DOWN' above 56. The chronometer is in fair condition. This chronometer was used on the famous tea clipper, Cutty Sark, when she was owned by the Portuguese under the name Ferreira. Launched in 1869, Cutty Sark competed in the races from China to London to bring back the first of the season's tea each year. Later, in the wool trade, she repeatedly made the fastest passage home from Australia. In 1954, she was placed into a specially constructed dry-dock in Greenwich and opened to visitors in 1957.

I'm lucky enough to own one of the re-issued Sewills and based on my ownership experiences I would like to see a black faced version and also a version with non-roman numerals.....
I did have a look at an Arabic dial but I don't think it works as well as the Roman dial.

The Roman dial you have shown is the first I have ever liked, due to the proportions of the numerals, ie. tall and narrow rather than the wider shape they are usually done in.
Roman dial deserves an "imprimatur" and the design is just perfect. Congratulations Eddie, to say nothing of the incredible rendering skills!
Agreed, doesn't look right - would have to be roman or batons like Ulysse Nardins...but what I really, really want is a Sewills regulator :twisted:
