Turkey rings alarm bells for me. Last time I was there I saw the best fake watches I`ve ever seen.

No idea whether these are genuine or not.

that was my first thought, but the guy has 2400 feedbacks, all positive, and on some pretty good watches too. judging by what he's selling i'm wondering if he has/had a bricks and mortar shop somewhere. in addition, that movement looks pretty good through the case back.

    Re: Mondaine help

The recycled brass case is an interesting concept, not seen a watch boasting of its green credentials before. I wonder if the lack of a battery has been used as a green sellling point for mechanical watches before?

    Hi Jon.

I already have one of these on order - so I hope it is Kosher.
    They look genuine to me.
And, more importantly, the seller seems genuine too.
Check out his feedback (inc one for this very item) and his other items.

My main worry is the customs / VAT / UPS Admin charges.

I share the SP in due course.

    Cheers, for now.

Just a quick update, in case anyone is interested.

Watch received from ebay seller this lunchtime.

24 hours door to door from Izmir in Turkey to sunny Dorset.

My fears were confirmed - as I had to pay VAT.

Thankfully, seller described item and value quite, er, conservatively - so not as bad as it could have been.

Watch itself is bloody lovely - just what the wife has been after for a while now.
I thought we would have to make do with a quartz, untill I found this one.
The brass case is an absolute beauty - goes with gold jewellry a treat.

It is NOS, with factory stickers on front and back - and as per seller's description and photos.

Fantastic watch, great service, unbelievable UPS trip and a top gentleman (or lady ?) to deal with.

He/she even has a couple left, I think.

Just my personal experience - shared as promised.

Oh, and before I forget - I wouoldn't like to gamble on the gold plated bit - it could easily be polished brass throughout, as far as I can tell.

    Even nicer ?

Alright, I've bored you enough with this already : )

The quality of the Mondaine I had was truly superb Jon,The fact I mentioned the scratch put so many off buying a bloody great watch,it did sell in the end,and I have to say it is one of the best watches I have ever had  yes it was, and the reason being it was so smart on the wrist and very easily read at a glance with the black and white oh and the red 2nd hand.
