Since money is an object for me, I don't usually squander much time dreaming about things which I'll never own. Sorry...
I guess this has been done before, but always good to see what people would buy if money was no object. Mike
Since money is an object for me, I don't usually squander much time dreaming about things which I'll never own. Sorry...
1/ Rolex Milsub
2/ Patek 5396 (quantieme annuel)
3/ a Patek chrono with quantieme perpetuel, but not sure which one yet :)
a Patek
a Breguet
could be of many!. Vacheron, JLC, Rolex, Old Breitling.... but 1 & 2 defo.
If money was no object I would hire some engineers and watchmakers and marketing people, buy a spare brand off Swatchco, LVMH or Richemont (or maybe do a Linde Werdelin and start from scratch) and get to work.
1. PP Nautilus
2. Rolex Submariner
3. I'll come back once I decide. :D
No bothered about top three, but the top 'one' is always a Roger W Smith for me http://tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f= ... 7#p1699064
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
easy
PP Nautilus
PP Nautilus Chrono
PP Nautilus Power Reserve
or change 3 for a Vacheron Constantin Malte Perpetual calendar in Pt
PP Nautilus would be the money no object purchase (& therefore very unlikely)
Otherwise I'm content with what I have.
a
1/ Comex Rolex........ There is just something about them.
2/ Doxa T-Graph Conquistador ........ No one has ever seen one.
3/ A 15 minute repeater pocket watch with loads of extra complications in solid gold.
Cheers
Simon
Ralph Waldo Emerson: We ask for long life, but 'tis deep life, or noble moments that signify. Let the measure of time be spiritual, not mechanical.
Quite unbothered by the usual WISpects. But, each to his own, and all that. So:
Glashutte B-uhr. Or, if too big, a Union Glashutte chrono
Some sort of smaller Radiomir - the 42mm one. Panerai 12345 or whatever it is, the steel one anyway
An old and in perfect condition 1970s Breitling or Heuer manual wind.
"Money no object" for me is stuff that not long ago cost a month's salary and is now essentially unaffordable for anyone except the top 1-2%. I can't comprehend, and do not value, any watch that costs more than a new car.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
My grail is and always be the Omega SMP, Blue wavy dial and skeleton hands.
I own much more expensive pieces, but its still my grail. The one that makes my heart flutter 8)
Money no object, doesn't need to be overpriced
Omega PO
IWC Big Pilot
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
1) Seadweller
2) Triple Six Matte
3) Milsub
Happy days
Two tone submariner.
Tag heuer Monaco.
Panerai 177 titanium.
Realistic, as opposed to money no object....
1 rolex day date II in platinum
2 patek world timer
3 brequet tourbillon
Rolex sub 3-6-9 dial with red deph rating any model :) :) 6538 etc
If money was no object I'd go crazy and get these:
Gruebel Forsey Quadruple Tourbillon
Richard Mille RM 052
JLC Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2
I agree with this. I would be more likely to strive for a Rolex, a PP or whatever if I couldn't afford it. If it was easy, then I'd be more likely to go with vintage watches and they wouldn't all be expensive.Originally Posted by Guz

Sorry but 3 is not enough :albino:
One of these three definitely (can't decide which one though :)):
...after choosing one of those, who knows? maybe a calatrava white gold or the sky moon. Then keep the sub as the beater.
JLC Polaris
Mil Sub
WW2 issued Panerai
Gray
Why do I get the feeling I'm not aiming high enough:
1. Omega 910 Flightmaster
2. VIntage Doxa 300T (pref orange dial, never going to find one)
3. Rolex 16750 GMT-Master (Pepsi dial)
I just prefer older watches I guess
Such a hard question! I dont even know where to start
I would have to put the BRM R 50 TN as number 1

Cheer up, TakesALickin - sometimes I look at pictures of women I'll never sleep with, and imagine sleeping with them. It's fun, and it doesn't hurt anyone. Try it!
Lange Zeitwerke Striking Time.
(Seriously, look at that movement! And that's in a poor picture!)
Panerai PAM4A, with a tritium dial and hands, please (not like the hands on this pic.)
IWC XV UTC (Is that enough initials?), in platinum, with a custom, 1 of a kind IWC bracelet in platinum. While we're making shit up.
I think, almost in spite of myself, I'd have one of these:
I never thought I'd like something in that style, but when you see one in the flesh you know you are looking at something of epic quality. Photos just don't convey it at all.

As for the oft-quoted Nautilus, I do like the shape but I'd probably try one of these first to make sure I got on with it:
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
Double Red Seadweller (with SL dial and hands)
Speedy Grail 376.0822 (with SL dial and hands)
Planet Ocean 42mm GMT in Ti with black bezel with combined 0-60 and 0-24 markings (custom build job) with 8500 movement
Some great post thanks, made for a good read, amd overall how diffrent people taste are, suprising the mili sub pop up a few times, mike
I'm surprised how many folk mention the Nautilus....
however I was once told that if Rolex are Mercedes -then Patek Philippe are Rolls Royce.
But I'd pick PP if money no object....
1.
2.
3.
Something very expensive with torbillion
1. PP Nautilius
2. Laurent Ferrier classic spiral double tourbillon (pure class)
Can't believe it, but that seems enough
If its good enough for Mr Pitt, never really liked it myself.
Been done before but...
Ulysse-Nardin GMT perpetual in Platinum on bracelet
Grand Seiko SBGE001
1965 Omega Constellation in gold
Cheers,
I think I'd keep the Speedy that;s on my wrist and spend the money on a nice plot up in the hills in Sri Lanka.
:)

I put these together for an earlier post on a similar subject, but there are some beauties there...
