Elton John last week only 3 miles from home so couldn't turn down the opportunity, Kraftwerk on Thursday, and after 30 years of wanting to too see them live and stumbling across the tour details tonight, Midnight Oil next month!!

An eclectic mix, had a good singalong at the Elton concert, will probably tap my foot quietly to Kraftwerk and go barmy to the Oils!

    regards

Magashegyi Undergound at Kobuci Kert on 7 July. My favourite Hungarian band playing my favourite Budapest venue (although the A38 comes close).

Just back from Richard Ashcroft at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester, a great night it was too! Not been to the venue before but really enjoyed it, a very relaxing atmosphere and he was on top form .. a long drive up and back for one night though, wish we'd made a weekend of it now

I wasn't an Elbow fan before the gig, just had latest one so had a vague idea of what was going on; they are great live and I've bought a couple of the back catalogue.

Nothing now until The National (then Nick Cave a few days later) although I'll probably end up going to something smaller in the meantime.

They reunited for a world tour, and they still have it! They're coming back to London at the end of the month so if you have the opportunity, you should go see them. It was an outstanding concert last night. I had waited a long time to see them!!

I was going to see A L Kennedy on Wednesday but I've decided not to now; me and the dog are going to venture out to a new burger bar instead. I believe she's very much alive.

Just back from a weekend in Brighton watching The Wedding Present and a few other bands over 2 days. Everything went on at the Concorde2 which is a great little venue with a (rammed) 600 capacity!

Gedge was his usual self hammering his guitar and snapping strings left right and centre ... good stuff!!!

A great weekend on the south coast!

Pavel Urkiza at Twins Jazz on the 27th, one of my favourite DC venues. Should be a good evening.

Apart from my own gigs (not sure if that counts as "next gig I am going to") it looks like Richard Thompson at the Dome in Brighton.... 11/10 and then Black Uhuru 17/10....

Springsteen on Broadway, two nights in January.

Just hope the weather holds! Vowed I would never see him in January in NY again after my last trip to MSG to see The River - winter storm hit the eastern seaboard late Friday night, cue 3 cancelled flights, one postponed show (the Sunday night), finally got to my NY hotel by 11pm Monday, with an early flight back Thursday, after a cracking show on the Wednesday night.

Heather Nova in Berlin in 2 weeks. Been waiting for her to go on road with full band 7 years.

Roger Waters finally comes to Riga next August. Tickets go on sale in 6 minutes :)

Just back from Placebo at the Albert Hall in Manchester. Was meant to be in Blackpool but the venue had some issues with the roof, so got rescheduled last week over to Manchester, which was a bonus for me having seen them last year at the arena.

Top gig, and really good venue. Won't be seeing them play somewhere that intimate again so chuffed I got a ticket. Can tell they've been doing it 20 years, very polished.

Got a real run of gigs now to the end of the year, Metallica the next one.

Starsailor in Cambridge tonight. I hate their new album though, so this is going to be interesting.

I'm off to see Placebo on Monday, only ever seen them at festivals before, so looking forward to that.

Reel Big Fish, Anti-Flag and Mad Caddies tonight, Amazons tomorrow, Placebo Monday.

Then Weezer & Ash before the end of the month, Wolf Alice a few weeks after that. It's gig season.

Wrote mini review about Heather Nova concert in Berlin: http://kronos.normunds.com/2017/10/h...ova-in-berlin/

Don't know if she will tour anytime soon with a full band, but if she will, I'll definitely go to see her one more time.

Last minute dot com, but probably going to Australian Pink Floyd tomorrow at Guildford. A mate canít go and has offered me his tickets.

Going to Wolf Alice next month too. They are so talented, was worried about the second album but it's cracking so really looking forward to it. Saw them last year and they were brilliant live.

Placebo have cancelled all remaining shows this year. What a shame, was really looking forward to it.

SeeTickets tried to take the piss though, refunding me £112 when I'd paid £133 for the tickets. Luckily, I'd paid through PayPal, so I raised a dispute with them. Full refund within the hour.

Just come off the back of a top gig week.

Monday and Tuesday was The Killers, Thursday Royal Blood and Friday Depeche Mode.

All top shows, Killers stage show was as good a show as I've seen. Royal Blood make such a great sound with just a bass and drum, they'll be selling out the Arenas very soon.

Killers tonight in Leeds, Nothing But Thieves last week in Nottingham (had to leave that gig though, sound was awful with earplugs in and painful with them out).

Kasabian in a couple of weeks. I could never get sick of seeing them live!

I am off to see Shed Seven with Cast supporting in December, that is always a good gig. For the first time in 16 years they have a new album, so some new stuff too will be good.
To earn some brownie points we are seeing Sam Smith at the 02 in March and then I am off to Liam Gallagher at Finsbury Park in June.
