Breitling Navitimer led
Omega Time Computer 1 and 2's
Colin.
Got a sudden urge for an LED watch, so have a Pulsar Date II LED on the way, any other LEDs out there?
Any idea how long the batteries last in these, as I guess I will have to source a case openning tool fairly soon.

This for me.
yeah the Omega TCs are on my list, it was just I found a good Pulsar first.
I think that's the one I bought from you Colin, great piece with all the trimmings. Not one I wear often, but it's always fun when I do. A unique piece amongst all my other watches.Originally Posted by watchlovr

Yep, I have this one burried somewhere.
I`m old enough to remember when these were all the rage!
A short-lived mid 70s thing, like long hair and flaired trousers. Don`t miss the trousers but I wouldn`t mind getting the hair back :)
My recollection of these watches is a bit hazy...all the flashy gits seemed to own them.

THIN is the new BLACK
A true classic:
I didn't manage to get one with the display logo models, guess that's another watch on the list.
Battery life, how long do they last in these watches?

First saw one being worn by Telly Sevallas in the TV series Kojack and just had to have one - the coolest thing on the planet at the time.
Great fun, but I was forever changing the batteries - I was lucky to get more than a month out of them. :(
Don't know what happened to it. Chucked it in a drawer somewhere when the next 'great thing' (LCD) came out and haven't seen it since.
Oh, and I had long hair, droopy mustache, wore flares and platform soled shoes at the time too - a proper flashy git, me.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
I got Colin's other TC2 8)
if I can only get about a month out of the battery I better get a case tool, anyone know where sells these? I've only seen one on ebay USA.
You normally get a good 12 months out of the batteries. I have a few omega's TC1, TC2, Pulsar P2 among others. All have lasted min 12 months. I have a case tool somewhere, if i dig it out you could buy that if you get sorted with a watch.I don't trust anyone with my LED's so change the batteries myself. :)Originally Posted by jegger

12 months is not bad!
Cheers Jason PM sent.
My first watch from the late 70s was an LCD.
Star Wars based and it came with different stickers to place on the face.

No idea what happened to it, but I'd love to find it again.
Always keep an eye out for a good one, wish I still had mine from way back when.

TC2 in 10k gold fill.
It does look pretty snazzy lovely shot.
Colin.
Yes it's the gold fill as Colin says - I had a hankering for a cheap 50 quid modern LED and posted a WTB. Unfortunately Colin came along with that stunning omega and I just couldn't refuse - had to up my budget a little but I'm still loving it :D
I like a bit of retro omega, and it makes a great stablemate for my mk2 speedmaster as well.
Great watches guys!
Did (does) anyone own one of these?
Had one of these as a teenager. Loved it to bits. When I saw one NOS, I had to go for it. I seldom wear it...so the batteries last for ages :D
I have a TC1,2 and a D1 plus also a blue Majestyk... great fun watches. Jeff from Majestyk is selling up the last of his parts on ebay now, there is a bunch of cases for anyone who wants to keep theirs looking good for ever.
I've never seen one of these I liked before - although I'm sure I felt differently as a seven year old - but that gold-filled TC2 is rather nice. I don't much like gold watches, as a rule, but somehow the futuristic (ha! for a watch that's less than a decade younger than me) looks stop it being bling. Now you've got me watching one on the bay when I should be saving for a 16600.
probably not what your looking for but there a few on here

Heh. As my appreciation for all things '70s increases, I must say I love those Omega Time Computers. Very cool, in a chunkily retro sort of a way. I've just realised that I've not owned a digital watch of any sort since I was 9 (I got a Swatch for my 10th birthday) so I might start keeping my eyes open for one... 8)
Well I got my Pulsar Date II today, love it! think an Omega TC is on the list now too.
Here's a pic, sorry but it's not lit up, I'm not sure how you guys manage to take a photo of these lit without a hand on the button as it only stays on for just over one second!
Have to say as well, the photo doesn't do it justice.
I have several. Currently working on a DX11 with an early dot matrics NCS module.
The imo most 8) are the gold plated Bulova Big Block
beaten to first place by the Elektronika1 with itīs mandatory price stamped in the clasp
It was a designed to last design incorporating lessons learned from the LEDs before it; US and Japanese and was made for almost 20 years.
Sadly most of these have been sold. All I have left are the 1st and 3rd Pulsars on the top row and the Hamilton in the middle on the bottom row. I'm looking to sell all 3 to cobble money to buy a stainless Omega TC2.
To answer the question of how I took this picture, there are 3 possible ways:
1. Drink copious amounts of coffee, rapidly push the buttons on all 10 watches, take the picture.
2. Have 5 friends using both hands, reach in push the button and get their hands out of there within 2 seconds, while I take the picture.
3. Take 10 individual pictures of each watch lit and then use Photoshop to composite them together into 1 picture.

Nice thread, I'm quite fond of these, too. Thanks for the pictures, great stuff!
Here's mine :D
Here's my wells from '74, texas instruments first led module I believe the TI-100.
Another majestyk owner!

I have this old beggar somewhere, from the 70's I think..

Evening all
Well I've had this pimping beauty on all day today and my has it had some serious attention at work! Not least of which came from out financial director who I thought might just have a baby at one point!. Wont believe it but I forgot I had this until about six months ago when I cleaned out my safe and watch drawer and in my safe
It is a very marmite watch and many on the forum would scoff at someone being so smitten with a quartz calculator watch that looks like Buck Rodgers should be wearing it! BUT remember that this watch was made in 1977, at the time it represented a technology that was just inconceivable (imagine the IPAD on steroids) and cost $650 new, at the same time you could but a pretty good second hand Dodge Charger for that sort of money! Goes great next to my SS TC2!!!!
Cheers Tom
It's a Nike+ Fuelband. Basically, it's an activity monitor for lazy gits like myself who need some encouragement to get off their duffs during the day and move around. It uses a tri-axis accelerometer to record steps, distance traveled and calories burned and then turns them into a numerical value -- fuel "points" -- that you earn during the day (you can set a specific goal to reach by the end of the day). It connects via BT to your iPhone, which shows you a graph of your activity for a given day, week or month. It also gives you the option to connect to Twitter, Facebook, etc, so you can compare your activity to that of your friends.
And it tells the time. ;-)
Regards,
Adam
PS - Real fitness buffs need not apply, BTW, since it doesn't measure heart rate, doesn't have GPS and is useless for cycling or swimming (it's water-resistant but not waterproof).

That is... GORGEOUS!
