    Current issue (British) military watches

    Hello all,

(The MWC topic has been drifting in this direction, but I believe this deserves a new topic.)

Can anyone give an idea which watches ARE current British military issue?

Thank you very much and best regards,

    Crusader

Ones that spring to mind are

    1) CWC G10's
    2) Seiko RAF chrono's
    3) Pulsar G10's
    4) CWC divers - 2 versions (steel & PVD)

Special Ops may have other watches. There are said to be some quartz black dial Omega SMP's out there. Plus there will still be the odd Rolex Sub etc still in stores.

    Cheers

    First I must admit that....

    ... I ride BMW

I think that Precista G10 and diver -watches were in UK use.

    Now more off topic....

It will be interesting if the new owner of Precista -trade mark (yes I know who he is and so do you) will start marketing "Precista" re-editions. Basically PRS-divers with new "Precista" dial.

Exactly same situation like with trade marks Breitling, Doxa, Heuer and many more so why not?

Indeed they were. I've written a piece on British issued dive watches in the past. I'll try and dig out the text and post it here sometime.

Which is the currently procured G10?

A quick internet search revealed that there appears to be a surprising variety of CWC G10s - with all sorts of different colored dials and, perhaps more significantly, with either a battery hatch or a snap-on caseback (the so-called 2000 issue).

Are they all current issue? I seem to remember having heard somewhere that the "2000 issue" was procured only in limited numbers... does anybody know which general service watch the MoD is currently procuring (as opposed to having stocks of)?

    Best regards,

    And why not?

Also the Broadarrow PRS-5 could 'legitimately' come under the Precista name. But not yet. Not until the PRS-9 and PRS-14 have been 'out' for at least a few months.

Googling around, I found this topic.

I presume the answers given above are out of date now - so, who makes the current British millitary issue watches? And are they available to buy to the general public?

Specifically interested in RAF issue, but any info would be appreciated.
