I thought I had settled on my planned Speedbird and Toshi combination with a nice Havana and dark brown combination, makes me wonder if I should be a bit more adventurous now.
Papaya with denim stitching! I have a feeling when its on, it will be the rottweiller's undercarriage!Originally Posted by Mj2k

Another crackin' combo... but not leather.
Stop making me consider more expenditure!Originally Posted by heboil
Really suits it; mine is currently enjoying a rotation around the extremely non-adventurous selection of NATOs...Speedbird, Black, Bond, Orange Bond, Grey.
I need to get some more colour in my life
Did you manage to get a pic of this? Really interested in how it would look as hoping to put a Toshi on mine when I get the watch.Originally Posted by Scrubnut
Not sure if this has already been done but here's mine on some vintage dark brown leather.
I got the strap today...it looks fantastic....I have to admit a technical fault...I can't get the bracelet off the watch yet :drunken:Originally Posted by Maggsinho
Yes.its tragic...but it seems I'm going to need 2 bracelet tools for this....watch this space!!
Oop. I've seen some posts describing how to get it off on here somewhere, you're certainly not the first to struggle with it!Originally Posted by Scrubnut
Looking forward to seeing the finished result when you are successful.

After experimenting with a few NATOs I had to hand, I reattached the bracelet - it clipped nicely back into place with little fuss. I wouldn't have any concerns repeating this process again in the future.
Now to think seriously about the new straps I need to buy :D
Love the vintage look on this JohnOriginally Posted by Dr.f
That looks lovely, it really suits a brown leather strap doesn't it?
Its nice, bought for £8 off SC here, wearing it now.
Promise here's my last leather strap on the PRS 22 Speedbird. Here we go, it's a Jurgens Aviator, lights, action, pics!
That's all folks!
Looks nice, I really like those Jurgens straps.
I have never had a problem with the bracelet. It fits well and closely but it's not over-difficult to remove or replace.
I have tried several NATOs and leather straps but I always put it back on the bracelet. None of the substitutes on this thread will tempt me away either, I think the watch and bracelet is very hard combination to beat.
It's almost as if they were designed that way :D
Agree with you on the aesthetics but found bracelet slightly too tight hence the fooling around with straps.Do think i've settled with this one though.

And a wrist shot:
I prefer the Nato look, some more pics here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=229492

I was very tempted to pull the trigger on the black Rios Aviator. After seeing this, I may have changed my mind. So now that would be two Jurgens for this watch.

Again, not a leather but this looks great too.
I can see the appeal of leather straps, especially with the flieger style of watch, but to me the SB III still looks best on the speedbird-colours NATO...
Well maybe one more go! I put the 'bird back on the bracelet but just didn't fit. Ashamed to admit even toyed with getting rid of it and it made a brief appearance on the SC but I soon came to my senses and so its back to another leather option, this time a nice di-modell rallye. What do you think?
Anyone know where to get this strap or something similar to it? I know the Doc got it off the SC, but I've spent most of my time at WUS and am still a bit new here so I've got to work on my post count. Just got a SBIII, and absolutely love the vintage look! Found this one: http://www.s-parts.de/ebay/Vintage_B...N_Stowa_11.jpg but it's something like $170+shipping :(
TIA for the help guys! Absolutely loving this thread and hope to see more of your Speedbirds on various straps
Mine only cost £8 off sc so don't need to spend a fortune.

Wearing it on the steel now. Wasn't my thing for the longest while, now I am loving it. Weird how our tastes change.
Do think it looks best on the strap but just didn't fit me properly
For me it wasn't a fit issue. It just felt too "refined" and I must have matured over the summer :P
And the iPhone 5 even makes it look better :P
With the GGB, does it rub on the underside of the lugs or is that an optical illusion? I fancy a change and the GGB approach is appealing.
Thanks to Mortis re-united with a Speedbird again so here's more pics. This one a brown leather Hirsch strap of sc for an exorbitant £3.50.
