I have the 44mm Oris Meistertaucher 1000. Good looking piece IMO and very very comfortable being Ti. Also wear smaller than the dimensions suggest due to the curved lugs but still has real presence.
This is my second and is the earlier style with the plain dial which for me is the better design. Later ones had the wave pattern on the dial which adds a bit of clutter and are not as sought after.
Took me all of a few minutes to get a hang of reading the time without a second glance so no problems there. Real conversation starter in my experience and a stand out diver against some of the usual drab designs.
Mine is currently away having a service and full refurb but should be due back any week now. Cost of the actual service with Oris was reasonable at £100 plus VAT.
S/H prices appear to vary. The first one I had was mint and struggled to sell here on SC for £650 with the full dive kit, boxes, manuals etc. A few months after the same watch was changing hands for £850. The new one I sourced here was cheaper <£600 with the full kit but it needed parts replaceing (crystal, crown, bezel amongst other things) and will owe me in the region of £1k once it is back.
The 49mm ones look nice in the black/ orange combo but tbh I've never followed up any interest in those as they would be far too big.
