You are absolutely right!!!
Are Rolex owners more likely to go bald?
Well, let me explain... (keep in mind I'm no MD)
Since I've seen far more watches online than I should, I can now report the results of my research.
Often wrist shots of Rolex sports watches are accompanied with a really hairy wrist.
This while say PP or JLC watches usually are sported on wrists with less fur.
Is this a result of hairy people with high testosterone choose more sporty and masculine watches to "reflect" their personality?
While people with less testosterone choose more elegant watches, PP, JLC etc..
Since hairy people (chest, arms) go bald early, see below, I could claim that this is a result of wearing a Rolex sports watch. Because confusing correlation with causality always makes good headlines, just ask the tabloids!
So what do you say? Which watches do you prefer? Are you hairy, bald or perhaps elegant?

I've got lots of arm, chest, leg and whatever hair and the hair on my head is actually getting less, but I don't often wear sportwatches :D (At least not at the moment)
Also I don't own a Rolex -not that I wouldn't like them, I just cant't afford one :( - but If I ever were to buy one it would either be a Datejust or a Cellini Prince and not a sports model.
but I like your headline. Very eye-catching. No doubt someone will try to prove it... :D
I need to sit down and have a think about this...
you could be on to something. I bought my Rolex sub when i was 20 years old and had a full head of hair. 30 years later i am going bald!
Clearly, there is a connection between number of watches / density of hair. However, I see a chicken / hen question: I think boys are looking for toys to compensate for hair, but who will ever know.
Personally, I own JLC, Breitling and IWC but no Rolex; but must admit I recently have been thinking a lot about Rolex. And yeah, the hair is so thin I shave my head.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Tony will also have a think about it.
That's. Me to a tee wear a Sub hairy chest legs arms and bald as a coot
Does this affect people next to someone at office with a Rolex? It looks to be contagious!!

Definitely!

Probably but I am hoping that by having some other watches in the collection, I can slow down the transition - I see no signs of my losing any hair yet - and to be honest I wouldn't mind it thinning out a little!
It's just a matter of time...
Does it work in the opposite direction, i.e when my hair wears out, should I start wearing a Rolex?
Can I sue Rolex?
"A man of little significance"
So if I wear a non Rolex dress watch for the next few years will my hair go back up to my head?
Cheers,
Gary
Never Gary. you are way past help in that department :lol:Originally Posted by Omegary

Well, I did notice that during the years I owned my Sub no-date, I got a lot more hair in my nose and ears..............
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
I know a lot of men, some younger and some older than me who are bald and who don't wear Rolex Sports watches. I also know that I don't wear a Rolex (yet), am approaching 49 years old, and have a full head of hair. Therefore I will assume that wearing a Rolex has nothing to do with it, but I hope soon to put this most excellent and scientific theory to the test.
Wish me luck!
Possibly - just as wearing a Rolex with a date magnifier seems to cause the wearer to start needing glasses...
It's not a Rolex specific thing.
It's what happens to any man who wastes a vast amount of their life dealing with some form of OCD- in the case of many people on here, that's the time & stress taken to consider which watch to purchase next.
There is definitely congruence between serial flippery and hair loss.
LOL, You can always try that :mrgreen:Originally Posted by Omegary
False. I wear a Rolex sport from time to time and I'm not bald. Maybe I have found a balance between Rolex and Panerai!
afraid i was bald before rolex came in to my life
I wouldn't be too worried... Fidel is wearing two!
43, been wearing a Rolex since 18, full head of hair no glasses - bang goes that theory!
It's the funny stainless steel they use, unique to Rolex. I thought everyone knew this.
It's true I tell you - I am now wearing a Rolex with cyclops and I am wearing a pair of glasses! My hair will start falling out at the weekend no doubt :(Originally Posted by HappyJack
Is there a specific model that affects the hair - I can understand that any cyclops model can have the detrimental effect on the eyes.
It's just a matter of time...
Will I go bald if I wear my Rolex whilst showering or playing golf?
Well, I am very much in the market for one, and since my hair line is already declining, I might as well ... :D

I'm going bald but my ears are getting hairier. Does that make me a typical Precista wearer?
No, full head of hair but I do have terrible taste in shoes and a habit of taking photos of them, especially in partial darkness
Bought my first Rolex just over 4 yrs ago at the age of 49; my hairline's receded since then so I guess that proves the case :)
I`ll stop wearing them, that should stabilise the hairline.........shouldn`t it?
Paul
Another one here. I have a Rolex I bought in 1998 and since then my hair has got thinner and receded a bit.
Conversely, my brother who wears a Kemmner Octopus, has a thick, lush, luxurious (I'm not jealous here) head of hair and has adopted a large quiff, so proud is he to be so crainially hirsute in his 40s.
So, by my statistical analysis (based on a sample population of 2), I think we can state with unwavering certainty that wearing a niche watch brand keeps you looking young and wearing a Rolex makes you look like an old-timer. :)
Of course they make you go bald. As do open-top sports cars, almost without fail.

No, only when you used to wear a large McAleese-like moustach and you were pictured with a black bar where your eyes ought to be.Originally Posted by bonzo697

This goes right back to the time The Grizzled Milkman was first miscast as James Bond. He was bald and wearing a syrup in Dr No.
Well - had a GMT since 1986 and haven't gone bald yet. I'll keep you updated though of course.
Does any watch cure baldness? G-Shock, Fossil? I would like to know.
