    A very recent acquisition

    Hi Guys

Just thought I would share a few pics of this Seiko SARB015, that landed today and well i'm mighty pleased :D
I'll admit straight away i'm no David Bailey, let alone do I own the equipment that would give you guys the pleasure in agreeing with me, these are seriously crackin watches.
Is fit & finish what you would expect for a watch in this price bracket :?: In my opinion I would say above,in comparison to the Swiss bracket at the same price range.
The sizes quoted are 38mm and I would agree with that, but definately wears much bigger. The casing has a lovely slim curvature and down sloping tear drop shape to the lugs from the side profile.

The flat sapphire crystal meets the bezel with a height differential of about 1mm. Dont know if this could be problematic with careless chips of that edge. Actually all my watches now, as discussed recently on Watch Talk, are definately to be worn and not worring every 2 minutes about possible situations arising in accidental knocks. Infact my opinion on this, if you spend time thinking about it, you're probably likely to have the knocks.

The crown screws x3 and is butter smooth with no wobble and the interal bezel functions with the same smooth action. To tell the truth I think these watches would look alot better without this feature and extra crown.
Anyway getting back to the Seiko and the finish of the bracelet, which simply is not too heavy, slim and very comfortable with no sharp edges.

Hope this goes some way to maybe convince some of you learned wis, that these watches are fantastic value and worth a punt especially on the secondhand market.

    Andy

    Agree with you mate

I should have mentioned these Seiko SARBs house the 6R15 movement, which give a spec. of +25-15 sec/day, and I can say so far it is well within this.

Very nice Andy. I do prefer the less common black dial to the later dark green dial version.
