Anyone got £45'000 to spend on some Bond watches....?

(not mine / no affiliation with the seller)

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAMES-BOND-00 ... 2a1c0b894a

Selling all together seems a little optimistic (as does the price, to me at least)

IIRC, the first time somebody posted about this, the seller was asking £50k for the lot.

    Still wildly overpriced.

Must've missed the last post. Even the opening bid of £30k seems over priced.

    Agreed and rather grandiose expectations

    Agreed.
Besides the price it's a nice collection though.

Perhaps the seller should give Dell Deaton ("Strategist. Dad. Christian. James Bond watch expert") a call... :D

No one would really pay that amount for it, surely.

I find this a pretty awful looking watch too.

I agree. Just my personal tastes, but I think that all of the non "Bond edition" versions of Bond watches look better (if that makes sense).

The way I think about it - James Bond wears the one which is not a Bond edition... so if you have 007 aspirations, then it's better to get the regular version.

For me, it's the box that basically makes it a collection - without it, it's just some nice Omega's.

Methinks he's mates with the box maker and thought (Billy Joel voice) "I want that eaaasy, eeeasy money, I could get lucky, thing could go rii-ee-iight.."

Sorry no chance if its Omega. The Omega bond watch was too naff and way too commercial imho.

What surprised me (apart from the price) was the run length of these "limited" editions such as 10,007 ?

A Porsche Boxster and a Seiko would do me fine for that money.

Only a Boxster for £45k? You could get a great used 911 or even an AMV8 for that money.

Well, after I bought the Seiko I would only have £44850 left....could I still get a 911?

5 watches for 45k...so that's 9k each plus a box and some tat. Be nice to have though for 15k or less as mentioned before.

Ridiculous. The SMP's are worth 1500 pounds or near that mark. PO's 2k-3k possibly?

If I had £45k to spend on watches, I would have an absolute field day. I would get a couple of omega bond watches, SMP and PO but that would be all I needed and definitely not the face with the horrible bond gun barrel motif, and fill in the blanks with a selection of Rolex, IWC, Panerai etc

The display case looked nice though!

Not keen on the Bond watches, cheapens the brand IMO.

I would suggest he has sobered up a little. Bidding now starts at £18,000 Interesting to see if anyone does make a move at that price .

    regards

Nope, still about 2.5-3x over priced. And the Sub has disappeared.

I'm no expert but the whole package probably isn't worth £8k. It would sell reasonably quickly at £6k.

But he still thinks that somebody is going to spend £35k. What a dreamer!
