Thread: Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

    Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

Have'nt worn this one for quite some time, so thought i'd give it a little wrist-time. :D

Tag Heuer Spirotechnique with modified white on black date wheel and a new oil-tanned leather strap, chrono's away into the watch box for a few weeks at least.

Nice watch.I have the Auricoste version of the Spirotechnique and like you mine don't get that much wrist time.I should use it more often.

    How come mines a 1000m but yours is a 200m ?

    Re: Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

My Auricoste version is 200 mm rated same case style.I wonder if Tag over rated later model's in the old days like Boutique watch co do today so they were easier to sell ? Why was one 200mm and then Tag changed it to 1000mm.

    Dave,

Its the actual case itself m8, Tag specifcally wanted a 1000m and they could'nt use the Spiro case, your case has the thick gaskets we spoke about and a sealing ring underneath the bezel that holds the glass to the case. Very similair to the set-up used on the monobloc case of the 1000m super pro.

I did have some pics of the 980.023 that i took apart but can't find them , here's one of the super pro in bits (not my pic, cannot remember who's ).

    Re: Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

Still one of my favourites. A proper no BS tool watch. Looks great on the oiled tan :thumbleft:

PS. James... that 3rd pic - that's ripe for a bit of tweaking, do you mind if I have a fiddle with it? it's a great angle.

That strap looks very nice and great to see a rarer watch on here that I quite like.
It's just a matter of time...

    Stewart,

I'll send you the original and see what can be done, somehow i think the pics look good (well for me anyhow :D ), then load them to photobucket and resize them for here and they just don't look sharp anymore.

    Thanks,

    James.

Thanks also to all for the comments chaps.

    Re: Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

    Hi,

The first models are quartz only and with a thick case rated to 1000m. When they introduced an automatic version a thinner case was used and so the rating fell to 200m.

I'm a big fan of the new Auricoste Spirotechnique- wish that TAG had got in first with the re-edition

They do look good, I even love the detail of the name on the NATO hardware. Pricey though IIRC.

    Hi James,

    The brochure is here: http://www.auricoste.fr/pdf/Spirotechni ... quette.pdf

EUR1900 for the stainless steel version...I thought that sounded OK. The first reports were of a higher price weren't they?

    There are a stack of photos here...scroll down...it's a modem-killer:

    Re: Tag Heuer Spirotechnique.

Learned some thing on this thread about the difference between the 1000m and 200m case all depends if it a quartz model or one with a automatic movement :D

€1900 - That's not too bad considering. You are right, I swear I read somewhere that it was going to be a lot more.
    Cheers for the links :thumbleft:

So, are these available yet, if not - is there a launch date?
