There is no significance to the dates. When I am taking these photos, I am picky about the location of the hands (usually having them at around 10:09, the so-called "happy time"), but I don't pay any attention to the dates.

I have heard that in watch advertisements, the date is typically set on "8" or "28", but I have never researched that point.
