My IWC Mk XII.
As the title says really. Unfortunately I can't see if this has been posted before so apologies.
I'm getting married this year and would like to see what those of you who are married wore. Please post up some pics for inspiration.
Thanks :)
My IWC Mk XII.
Squadron Breitling - then again, I did get married at St. Clement Danes on Strand (Central Church of the Royal Air Force).
Rolex SD. My wife gave it to me as a gift the night before our wedding - so didn't have much choice. Still one of my favorite watches.
Stowa MO. No pics on this PC I'm afraid but I'm sure we all know what they look like.
The Panerai 312 my wife bought me as an engagement present.
Too big as a dress watch, but it was special to us so there was no other choice.
Seiko chrono, my only watch that time.
Wasn't into watches properly when we got married, so probably something cheap. On honeymoon I saw an asymmetrical Seiko chrono which is a great all round watch, bought it as a wedding pressie to myself.
Day
Evening
Both now gone. Just the wife to offload now and thats all three gone.
Sub LVc...think it was suitable for the setting.
A shot from my wedding day

To be honest, I do not remember.
I have tried to find out from pictures but no success.
SS, bracelet, black dial, square ... and that´s all.
Breitling SuperOcean Pro
It was my only watch at the time: I was a bit odd in those days.
Still got the watch now though, wearing it today in fact.
Beat me to it Tony! :lol:Originally Posted by learningtofly

I had a waltham pocket watch that belonged to my grandfather something old you know :)
second wedding I wore this
Dont even like to think about the first one :(
Rolex Date Black Dial......
I'm getting married in May and haven't yet decided. I'm off to Thailand on honeymoon the next day and am thinking I should wear just one watch so it will probably be the MM300. Of course an SD would wear - so I've heard - much better under a suit cuff but I'm pretty sure the fiancee isn't planning as good a surprise as that.
"A man of little significance"
During the nuptials at church, I wore my engagement present, my Tag Heuer F1, the watch that actually started me on my WISdom.
...but swapped to my Sapphire Sandwich for the reception.
Mine was way before I got into watches. Think it was a Seiko quartz chrono of some sort, which was the only watch I had at the time.
regards,
Nick
Thank you for the replies everyone.
I was thinking about this one as a possible contender also. Which strap did you have?Originally Posted by Seabadger

Me too, different Seiko though..Originally Posted by WVE60
I didn't have to worry about the time though, got married in Las Vegas and we rode in the same limo to the chapel.. so I didn't have to stand around wondering if she was going to turn up.. :)
Cheers,

I posted the same thread , but can't find it. In the end I wore a Rolex GMT.
I have problems remembering what I wore last week, let aloan when I got married, it is nearly 25 years ago after all.
And of St Clement Danes Grammar School.................Which was around long before the RAFOriginally Posted by IANAN
So get your thieving hands off our Church, bloody flyboys, anybody would think they'd won the battle of Britain or something :D
Datejust II, White Dial.
pretty sure it would have been a tag carrera
Omega SeMP GMT, on a leather strap to dress it up a bit. I also carried my great-granddad's gold pocket watch which I'd planned to get a chain for, but never got round to it.
The Omega is hardly a dress watch, but I'd proposed whilst wearing it so it seemed appropriate.
Electric Blue SMP as my wife had just bought it for me. I will keep it forever.
It was a borrowed Corum $20 Gold Coin watch which I've since inherited.
Well the only real dress type watches I had at the time were my Rolex Oyster Date and my Grandfather's Smiths Astral. The thought of marrying in a sports/divers watch seemed wrong (sartorially).
Sentimentality won out and I wore the Smiths (and the fact that because of the prior association with my Grand father it'll never be flipped).
Mine was before I was into watches. I couldn't remember what it was but I looked at the honeymoon photos and I'm wearing an Accurist quartz, so it must have been that as it was my only watch at that time. I no longer have it, the watch that is, I've still got the wife
omega constellation for me - was my 21st bday present - now needs a service!
69' speedy.
Lorus quartz. It was 1988 and I was just a youth...
No one did tail coats and pocket watch?
She's oHpF. (second wedding, current wife) I already sold the one from
The first wedding which was a Tudor prince date. I regret selling that one actually.
we had a kind of pool party so I went with the seamaster
and no pants
GMT-IIc
Which one
First one, is a good question, but I think it was a Seiko Quartz model
On my second and current marriage I wore a Rolex GMT IIC :)
Vintage Rolex Oyster
I only had two watches at the time so decided to wear my vintage airking date..... Completely forgot about it on the day and ended up wearing my daily wearer sub date.
I wore a seiko SKX009 which my wife gave me the day before we got married. I wasn't into watches and just had a g-shock and an Adidas adventure watch I bought at uni. Months before I said that I really liked the seiko divers watch and must have pointed it out. My Dad always wore a seiko 5 auto and I just liked em. So was a huge shock to get the watch I really wanted! I happen to k ow that she paid £200 and remember thinking it was a lot!
Still have it, still love it, would never get rid of it. Funny thing was that I wanted to get other watches for ages, but didn't mention it as I thought she'd get annoyed or funny as she got me the seiko!
speedmaster, with OEM black gator strap
That is indeed lovely, what is it?Originally Posted by bmpf
