I keep my collection in Oakley watch vaults in the safe.

Can't recommend them highly enough, offer reasonable protection, look good(IMO) and are great for travel. Come in two sizes, small perfect for 40mm(sub,gmt etc), large for 44mm(pam etc)

    Cheers

Most of my watches are vintage or not much over 40mm so I've got three of these watch briefcases off ebay (around £30 delivered) . 2 are full and the third is getting there!

Here's my first semi-DIY box (box was purchased from a collector and subsequently refurnished)

For the next one, the box was purchased off ebay (cigar box) and then also refurnished....

One of these depending on how many watches, I have at a given moment.

I used to have shed loads, these days I am down to a handfull of watches.

Just wondering what everyone thinks about the winders you can get? anyone got any or are they just unnecessary?

next purchase will probably be automatic and almost certainly wont wear it every day, so want to know if they are worth it.

    Nope, not worth it.

The imperative word is unnecessary. Unless you have a complication.

I stand by what I wrote in the thread MARIOS linked to:

They just put unnecessary "mileage" on your watch.

For the average WIS (with no overly complicated watches), there is absolutely no need for putting a watch on a winder.

I am loath to buy a watch, which has been on a winder for a prolonged period of time.
