'Big Man' tackles fare dodging teenager on train

Kid and father have been all over the media up here - they are both adamant that he did nothing wrong and that he'd paid for the right ticket.

Are you suggesting those of us who broadly support Allan Pollock are suffering from selective hearing? Because what I'm hearing is that young Master Main claims to have been advised at the ticket counter that two singles were cheaper than a return (evidently they're not), that he was then mis-sold two singles in the same direction (!) - and that he swore at and abused the train manager who (by his own account) would have been right in insisting he got off, being without a valid ticket for the journey.

Mr Main is quoted as saying: "‘I had been out celebrating after an exam and I was half asleep on the train. I did have a ticket but I must have handed over the wrong one to the conductor. The next thing I know this big guy is manhandling me to the door and throwing me off." He seems to have completely forgotten the several minutes of abuse he showered on the train manager. Genuinely forgetful, or selective amnesia?

He also claims he was aware during the day that he had been supposedly mis-sold two singles for the same direction journey, and intended to explain this on the return journey. He had plenty of opportunity to explain, but instead just swore at a guy doing his job.

Of course, if I've misunderstood, and you DON'T think it's the likes of me who are suffering from selective hearing, then please accept my apologies.

Quite. And that applies to the fat bully as much as it applies to the little scrote.

The 'little brat' alleges that he was sold the wrong ticket. Of course the ticket collector on the train wouldn't have given him the benefit of the doubt, as he was the wrong sex and at least four years too old. I commuted for many years, and of all the differences of opinion I witnessed between customers and train staff I rarely sided with the train staff. It might be the job that makes them that way, but train staff are invariably tossers.
