Personally, I don`t think big watches look right on women.
Silly fashion statement IMO, just looks wrong. Almost as bad as men wearing watches with the bracelet loose, that looks silly too.

 Jesssssssssss...
I found Mrs SPEEDY eyeing up my watch collection last night
She wears one of my Seikos already
Anyone else having to share these days  ?

My Girlfriend likes to wear My EcoZilla  Ofcourse it doesnt fit me right lol
Gave my Girlfriend this watch as a token of my love :D a Bellmatic Seiko i thought it was a nice present anyway
I recently got my white-faced Rolex Daytona re-sized for my wife's wrists...it's the only watch of mine she likes (and she usually hates Rolex). That's one big watch that does look good on a woman, probably better on her than me to be honest.
I'm safe with the others though. :)
My sis-in-law is wearing 'his' blue kit steel and gold Sub and 'his' Frank Muller Crazy hours, my Mrs wont wear my stuff as I have explained ploitely that wearing my big watches makes her look fat

It's the " in thing " right now. My wife is sporting my vintage Doxa Searambler these days.
I dig it!
Wife/gf probably feels it makes up for other areas

Now thats worth a try  :wink:Originally Posted by Joe.K

My wife wears a 44mm Panerai 90 which she nicked out of my watch box and will not give back. She is 5ft and a small size 8, but it looks great on her.
The Missus isnt into anything too big... But I cant prise my Breitling Colt from her wrist at the mo.
It does look good on her though.
Chunky/oversized jewellery on a lot of ladies makes some of their features (neck/wrists) look smaller and by some tastes more feminine.
The same effect is true on gents, so I find it puzzling when guys wear oversized watches...
When I got my Speedy Pro in Goldsmiths a couple of weeks ago she got them to re-size my Bond SMP to fit her - "well you won't be wearing it, will you!".
It is a mid-size so it suits her quite well.

Lufthansa Stewardesses wear large "man" watches for years. I always liked it.
My wife only wears one of my CWC ex army watches, but so does my mother
Sweet watch, what is the case size on that ? 42mm?

Yes, it's been going on for years....
Just got my Sub back off the Mrs because she took a fancy to it , I wore it last week after re-sizing the bracelet (again)
When I bought it new in 1990, I had to wait 6 months for it to arrive because it was explained that 'all the Italian and French ladies have been snapping them up as a fashion accoutriment' ...
I have to say that it did look good on the Mrs though.

A few years ago we gave the oldest of my three daughters a Tudor Princess on jubilee for her 16th, and she wears it every day. It looks great: understated and timeless.
But the youngest one wanted something a bit bigger for her recent 18th, and she's just had the grey-blue faced Prince Quartz Oysterdate on oyster that was on the SC a week or two back - and she loves it. It's about 35mm, and looks fantastic even though she's very slight, and I don't think the look will date at all. The watch doesn't look remotely out of proportion.
Meanwhile the middle one had a 40mm-ish modern Orient Star (not a diver) from me a while back and that looks good too: though it's a bit more of a statement piece I think.
So my conclusion: lots of quality vintage men's watches of the 70s and 80s, in those mid-30mm case sizes, will end up on female wrists.

My wife's watch is a 29mm Raymond Weil Parsifal semi-bling.
I so wanted to buy her a 36mm 116203 or the like at the time but she thought it far too large for a women's watch.
The RV is probably worth 1/2 or even 1/3 the price of a 116203 nowdays but never mind, it's what she wanted and she's not given me any gip over my daft purchases.

That sounds like a good explanation for monster watches on tiny girls...Originally Posted by spluurfg

I would however be bothered about how the whole combo looks. If the watch looks monstrously big, then I would not wear it - not because how it makes me look but because it is not æsthetically pleasing.

I keep contemplating buying a speedmaster pro but I doubt I'd get to wear it.
Silly, almost as bad as women smoking cigars
Love it when a woman wears a mans watch.
Very sexy IMO. :thumbleft:
She's borrowing your handbags and shoes instead?Originally Posted by bobbymonks

Women with mens watches on are hot IMHO!
Mine only like girlie sized ones..
True, but it's one way sharing over here. I don't wear her watches and don't wear my watches she wore as the leather straps tend to pick up her perfume.Originally Posted by esm
My Mrs is 5'2", has the smallest wrists and wears a Rolex Lady Datejust which looks ok. I have tried to get her interested in bloke sized watches but she is not interested. I suppose I thought it would be an excuse to buy a few more............ no?
Mine now thinks the navitimer is hers for good. It does look good on her I'll admit that.
I can see where you are coming from.Originally Posted by akubra
The way I see it is that it gave me perfect excuse to get as many new ones as I wanted. It's the best case scenario
Maybe avoid giving her those with leather straps though
My girlfriend has been wearing my watches for ages.......................I let her get on with it.
seen a few lady's wearing more & more mens watches lately. Wife stole my Omega the other day and I must admit there was something nice about it. Just wanted her to be careful though!
hahaha - exactly my thoughts :lol:Originally Posted by esm
My gf wears a 1960's Oysterdate which looks just right. She always gets loads of positive comments and when she proudly explains that it is from the 60's (1965 to be precise) no body ever believes her - I guess that is the beauty of classic rolex design changing little over the years.

And occasionally my Smiths PRS29A goes missing and can be found here:
Sometimes it looks alright I suppose but the person that annoys me the most with it is that polly Anna on the gadget show! She must have the whole men's rolex sport range and the DSSD looks ridiculous
I thought it was only me found that annoying.Originally Posted by walkerwek1958

No, you are not alone fella, it just makes me cringe. I even offered to resize an SMP bracelet for a guy I sat next to at a meeting this week. He just looked at me and said 'why?' I said 'errr...because it is clearly too big?'. He said 'it's fine thanks'. But he did pull his cuff down, the mincer.Originally Posted by ROBANNENAGY
Yup. I'm with you there. I work with a guy that has at least a couple of links too many - his watch (seiko diver with steel bracelet) is always slipping round to the point that he has to make all sorts of strange movements to see the time. Mind you there are days... y'no the kind where you feel a bit of devilment is in order. Me an a couple of the other guys took it in turns to see how many times we could ask the guy to check the time for us. We had to be quite inventive with our reasons. By the end of the day he had hardly any hair left on his arm and was just about ready to pull the hair on his head out. Childish but, had to be done
I find it really sexy when a lady with thin wrists wears a big watch. :)
