Looking forward to this too (although our affinities lie elsewhere). Should be a good game. I'll predict a 2- 1 win for United.
Well, tomorrow will be the first Manchester derby in years that has been a serious contest!
While in the past couple of decades United have always been favourite in this contest, this time Manchester City are viewed as not only a potential threat but serious contenders to take the title!
Both have decent keepers (though City arguably have the best in the prem with Hart!) both have a a strong defence, both have a very diverse midfield - having the ability to play long or short-ball, as well as wide or down the middle. Needless to say though, the attack is where the fun will be! The two premiership top scorers going head to head!
I would hope that this will be a tight game, but it could easily be 3-0 either way given the scoring capacity both sides have!
Either way, this promises to be a real match!
I do hope that my beloved MCFC win out, but a draw is a strong possibility.

Serious contest
City fans would lose their personality if they started beating United. It's hard to winge when you're winning. Wouldn't suit the martyrs one iddy biddy bit.
See you there. I'm the one in red 8)
Come on you Reds.

a draw would be good too though from a gunners perspective ;)
blue moon! Come on City!
One love, one religion, come on Utd
Ps ....the city boss is a cyclist
I shall be cheering on City, because: -
1) They very generously lent us Bellers last season
and
2) Plastic Utd fans wind me up
Reds for me (coz I've two x £5 bets on them).
As a match going red since 1963, I trust I pass the plastic red/JCL test!
As I said last night, for the first time in my life, I actually think citeh should be favourites for the win at OT.
They are now a quality team, not surprising with all the money thrown at it. Just hope we stuff the blue b*st*rds!

Anyone complaining that it's money and only money is just bitter.
Chelsea have spent millions - and it's only worked with the right combination of manager & players.
Man U have spent millions - and it's only worked with the right combination of manager & players.
Real Madrid spent millions - and it's only worked with the right combination of manager & players.
Money alone does not alone bring success - but it does allow clubs (in this case CIty) to compete with other teams for quality personnel.
Combine these signings with a capable manager and perhaps there will be some success - it's not guaranteed.
If the success brings in more revenue - then the cycle perpetuates and better players will come, more titles follow, more money, better players etc.
Now the other big teams no longer have their mini cartel for the best players they cry 'no fair'.
City are now serious contenders - and not just because of the money, it's because they've used the money to buy in some talent on & off the pitch - something other clubs have been doing for ages. Why all the moaning when City doing likewise?

Worth noting maybe that when Evans was sent off there were still 40odd minutes to play and City were 1-0 up after scoring with their only shot of the game. Upon 90 minutes the score was 1-3. A complete collapse saw 3 goals in the last 3 minutes. Was I the only person there?
Call the utd helpline 0161 616 1616
The Trafford Rangers don't like it up em.
See the sad sacks leaving after 50 mins. Bet they were off to the city shop for a new shirt.
Hahahahahaha
Man U man just back home
We got spanked today, no question about it. Hopefully we'll respond.
Its really hurting, but its still only 3 points no matter how big the score; trophies aren't handed out in October but the noisy neighbours are looking very strong.
Enjoy your day City fans, take me back to the 80's when the 'pool fans got stuck into me.
One love, one religion, Man U 'til I die

I only saw the first half and was very suprised to see that final score.
i've got no afiliation with either team.
City trashed United.
End of story.
I said in the first post of this thread that it could go either way. We opened the scoring and United never recovered. Sending off (and well deserved one too!) may have influence the outcome, but United simply cannot play the pressure strategy with ten men.
They have used that playbook for the last ten years and finally clubs have begun to exploit it - hence the three goals at the end of the game with City utilising a superb counter attack against Man U's 'ten men up and hope for a goal' plays.
Some of the chaps in the pub acyually thought that United were the better side throughout!
And that Uniteds solitary goal was the best of the 7 scored.
It's days like today that I wish I was ten years younger and didn't know any better, because some of those red shirted wankers needed a good slap today and I would have loved to dish some out.
They soon zipped up their little poncey cardigans once City started to dominate - not a flash of red to be seen!
All in all a well deserved result, and even then we had a nailed-on penalty decision turned down!
5 point gap now and the reds are staying in second or lower!
And to the peeenarses saying we've bought the league...WTF drugs are you on, and can I have some??? City have had cash for years (yes, even when we were filling Maine Road in division 2!) but have only just begun to gel as a squad after a few big money flops.
Manchester United haven't bought their position? Have you fickle pr1cks forgotten the disgusting way you poached Wayne Rooney from the club that nurtured him through his youth and made him what he is (was!)?
Or the way they badgered Bayern Munich to sell Owen Hargreaves despite the fact that he wasn't on the transfer list...
Maybe we should ask Fiorentina about the big money 'under the table' deals MUFC were trying to cut with some of their youth team?
I think that United fans are as fickle as they come. At least 75% of them hopped on the wagon in the 90's when they were scooping up cups, and will jump off just as swiftly when they stop winning trophies.
No love lost between Blue and Red side of Manchester.
Bollocks to the crybaby United fans still looking for excuses after that abysmal display of football.
Kevkojak's post shows that the hate runs deep in Mancs town.
Mind you, Tottenham fans are still crying about Arsenal moving to North London nearly a century ago.
Did City "fill" Maine Road back in Division 2? No, they got good crowds granted, but the times Maine Road was full was when they played United. Most of the top attendances at Main Road are United attendances when they played there after the war. 85,000 plus against non league Yeovil for instance. The highest League attendance is at Maine Road - United v. Arsenal.
Anyone remember the 3007 that saw City play Mansfield? That's kept quiet isn't it. Anyone who truly believes that Manchester is blue is delusional or retarded.
And as for the Trafford Rangers jibes - Trafford is still a part of Manchester, just as the Borough of Islington is still a part of London.
There's a big myth built up around the allegiances of the people of Manchester fueled by the rise of the internet and radio phone ins. United don't call City fans "Liars" for nothing.
A flag at the front of the City section today - Norwegian with "Manchester City" on it. We'd be slagged off for that yet City fans will say it's great to see how a wide fan base City have, unless they're claiming it's a small part of Burnage.
City deserved their win today I'll not be churlish about that, but any money spent by United, Arsenal or Liverpool has been earned. not given. And any respect City achieve will have to be earned. As yet they have non and are fast turning into the sort of team they all criticise Unted for being.
We'll see how things pan out. I've never seen trophies handed out in October. But one thing is for sure - if City don't win the League this season they will the next, or very soon after.
