Zenith el primero rainbows are my favourites
Whats your favorite Chrono ?
I'm thinking of buying a new one soon.
Does anyone else have a cheaper watch they love as much
as much more expensive items ? I have a Casio Edifice Chrono
which I love, and gets noticed as much as watches ten times
its price.
Zenith el primero rainbows are my favourites
Seiko Bullheads, either colour combination, but must be on a "fishbone".
Look and feel so much nicer than a lot of far more expensive chrono's.
crikey, there is a hell of a lot of choice how much are you planning on spending ?
I think the zenith mentioned above would be a great place to start if its in budget.
Very cheap and the favourite amongst my (few current) chronos (also my favourite chrono including the ones I have sold for that matter)

I have mine on a leather strap. An absolute classic
Something with only two registers, probably. I appreciate the ability to record up to 12 hours but I like seeing the symmetry of subdials on the left and right.
Chronos are a '60s/'70s thing for me (despite being around for over 100 years) so something chunky with a bit of colour always goes down well - Zenith, Tudor, Alpina, Oris, Heuer. I love the grey-brown dials and splash of red on this one:
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
My favourite chronographs are the daytona and the carrera. I don't have either, but still my favourites, and will hopefully be in my possession some time in the future.

Was thinking a a Bentley Navitimer , but a little too bling foe me.
I'm heading towards a Daytona Chrono.
Yup, they don't have to be expensive; this one's a cracker too. Up-down rather than left-right, but terrific for the money (under £100):Originally Posted by johnboy24

daytonas up to about 1997 used the movement from the zenith rainbow. :wink:Originally Posted by ringnut
i've learnt that since I started reading on here and i'd always say original is best.
Cheap and expensive differs for everybody I guess.
Personally, I've gone off chronos a little recently, but this is my favourite of those I own :
regards,
Nick
Hi
This is my current favourite chrono....perfect , but not exactly cheap....
Thanks Neil
Got to be my Sabina Chrono which I recently bought back. Sold it some years ago but found it by chance!
This is my first watch given to me in the early 70´s and I am soooooooo happy I´ve found it!

+1. THE chrono as far as I'm concerned, had one, loved the look, timekeeping, chrono functionality, but just a bit too heavy/clunky on the wrist for me compared to my 5513.Originally Posted by sunster
I have a Bentley and a Daytona the Daytona feels very small compared to the Breitling. Both are comfortable
I have a big soft spot for the bond seamaster chrono. I know its not the last word horologically speaking but feels great on the wrist. I'm a little bit in love with the new Longines heritage column wheel chrono too.
Busted!!! :lol:Originally Posted by WatchScout
As the OP obviously means something I don't when he/ she says "cheap", I think this said it best in the Friday thread:

Seiko 6139-6002,
Great VFM.
If I could have any chrono, it would be the patek 5980/1A. Yum!
Patek 5170
JLC Master Chronograph
Zenith El Primero Class 4 (mine's having some work done atm :( )
I'm a sucker for chronos and prefer the classic looking ones. I use the chrono functions several times a day and sometimes wonder how I ever got by without one.
Definately this one:
I like the left one of this pair
For me its undoubtedly the Seiko 6138-3002. i tend to prefer 2 dial registers. It's a watch I wish Seiko would remake! Pic below nicked from the web:
I've also started falling in love with the Zenith De Luca as well. Anyone want to sell me theirs :drunken:
I'm a sucker for vintage stuff, especially Heuers from the sixties and seventies, like my "Calculator:"
So do I. And I also like the right one of that pair.Originally Posted by ism123
Not sure this is going the way the OP meant it to
Not sure I've got a favourite - I like so many. Value for money, for me, goes to 1970s Seikos.
My Speedbird, which I love, is also great value:
I love chronographs & have several, but this takes some beating for me
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
Don't care.
I want them all.
I love IWC, Blancpain, Chopard, Mountblanc.....but nobody mentions them....
I also like the Raymond Weil Nabucco, why ar these not mentioned ?
I don't know why, but although I think leather straps look more expensive, I hate them when they start to
age, so I tend to go for metal straps.
Oh, have a Montblanc then. A touch more expensive than a Raymond Weil Nabucco I grant you, but hey...
yes, Zenith with El Primero cal. is still a good choice.

These two. Unfortunately don't own either!

Zenith Daytona Black......
El Primero, but I prefer mine aged.
Can't argue with the Striking 10th, but I do have a soft spot for this understated beauty.....
IWC Pilot’s Chronograph
I have to say both the Rolex 116520 and the Omega 3570.50.00
I think the Breitling crosswind special limited edition (white dial) is a great looking watch.
It's a chronograph just a bit different. No longer mine :(
This was a favourate as well, sadly lost in the post.
This is a keeper :)
which seiko is the one above please?
