Hi
I am just letting you know what I know. The omega 1953 fat arrow had the new issue numbers with the date on. So this predates that. The Mark Xi watches i believe were 1948 onwards. This gives you a rough idea!
Is it possible to date this British Hamilton 6B? The markings on the back are:
/l\
6B-9101000
H
0908
M
I found this: http://www.antiquevintagewatches.com/mi ... es.html#6b
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was thinking more on the line of 1960s ... well we'll see if someone comes up with more information, thanks
I received the watch in question today, bought off ebay

Maybe it was a bit expensive, but case, dial and movement are in quite good condition, better than in the pictures. The hands have lost their luminous material, but I think I will keep them original. All in all, I am quite pleased with it :)
Hamilton supplied watches to HM government circa 1965 to 1975.
I have a 6B from 1967 also a GS and several W10s.
The avert states the movement as 8758 this is not correct the calibre is S75S this is an often repeated error.
These are good watches I wore one for over 25 years.
Cheers

Ian, is the movement on the Hamilton 6B supposed to hack? I can't get mine to do so. Thank you.
Galea,
The S75S is a hacking movement but some have the 75 movement that does not hack I think.
There is a third movement but I cannot remember what it is.

Ian
OK, then mine is not supposed to hack at all as it has the 75 movement. Is there a way of effectively dating the watch? Thanks.
Regards,
Joseph
Sorry don't know outwith the 65-75 span.
Cheers
Ian
Thanks Ian.
