Not heard of this for ages

We need Arthur C Clarke back & his mysterious world.

I have those magazines too! In a blue leatherette binder IIRC.

remember the pictures of the Spontanious Human Conbustion from there, just a woman's leg from the knee down, next to a pile of ashes and a charred chair......Will have to dig those out for another read.......

At least when the guy realised he was alight, he had the decency to move into the fireplace to keep the warm room. Up there for thinking and down there for dancing.

Very interesting, I read all about this years ago and remember the picture mentioned above as well as a particularly horrid photo of a man who had bitten into a staircase while he burned, blooming scary
    Cheers

    Very good.

    Re: Spontanious Combustion

Having seen the "leg" picture many years ago, I started to read up on the subject. The most convincing explanation I found was that
this usually happens to elderly, less mobile people & is caused by chemicals in their urine reacting with their underwear, causing an
intense localised blaze. So, when you put on the wool longjohns, make sure you shake it right off after a piss & don't dribble in your
    undercrackers   :D :D

This could be a load of rubbish, or it may not.
