Looks nice, but how come the lugs arn't strait? Whats with the big red triangle?

*edit* just seen the original this is based on. Will you be able to move the triangle by rotating the bezel?

This the old Zeno, long gone now. I had a lot of fun with it and often miss it. It had terrific wrist presence and I even received a compliment from a 'knowledgeable' collector. Only sold it because I run out of wrist space.

I said last week that I needed a new watch*. Can I have No 2 please? Or 3? Or whatever you think I should get. :P

    Great back!!!

I was wondering about that myself ... Why am I thinking it's not a 6498? (Although it's the obvious one to use.)

It's the AS1130, commonly known as the "Wehrmacht" movement. Because of the shape and construction of the case it would have been bigger than I wanted with the Unitas 6498.

I've got 200 at the moment and looking for more. They're not from Choisi though, Roland Kemmner found them for me and they're all being serviced right now.

    Outstanding :)

I'm guessing from the name they were originally used in issued watches? Cousins seem to have plenty spares, always a good sign.

I love NOS movements. Screwed balances, lovely jubbly 8)

I keep looking at that one although it is purely a fantasy piece, it was never originally made looking like that.

    Hi Eddie,

I take the No.11 as always. This is a firm order :bounce:

Nice watch! I have all 3 original watches in my collection, but I never use them. So like always, your homage is a perfect way of wearing a design I like without taking the risk to ruin my originals.

Probably the best news I've heard in a long time. I've been waiting for this watch to go into production for a LONG time!

Great choice with the AS movements as well!

More info on this movement here:

    http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db. ... wk&AS_1130

And quite a few movements were given the name Wehrmachtswerk, as I've just found out here:

    Re: CAF update

The Unitas 6325 is another 13'' movement that also carries the byname "Wehrmachtswerk". Personally I'm not too keen on the name, they're just rugged movements which were used during the war. AFAIK the AS 1130 was produced rom the mid 30's up to the early 70's.
Watches using one of these movements that were produced after the war sometimes had "Wehrmachtswerk" printed on the dial, probably to emphasize that a rugged or "proven" movement was used.
Seems Marcello C did a limited edition using the AS 1130 some years ago that looks very tidy: blued screws, geneva stripe on the bridges and perlage on the base plate, that one has a moveable stud carrier: http://uhrentick.piranho.de/uhrentes...lloc_polso.htm (Site is in german)
And here is a picture of mine (it is in need of a clean and oil), a more standard version. (higher resolution than the ones in the Ranfft archive).
