I concur there, a MKIV Varaflame with the rotavalve gas head movement which sometimes could cause vast swathes of hair to become singed if the body was warmed in the hand... they can make 75-100 us$ if they have the gold Ronson chevron on the side, nice leather pouch there too..Originally Posted by BMONSTER

How about these :?:
I am a big Glycine fan and I think the Eugčne Meylan looks very cushy and/or cushiony.

Hello Steve
It's pink gold.
Movement comes out from the back.
Case is polished all over.

Neil.

That's the one I want, too, but I've just promised my wife that I will not buy any more watches for 1 calendar year. What a fool :!: :!: :!:
Mind you I've got a Damasko DA36 on its way from Eddie as I write and something else as well from MKII, but after that, it's patience, patience, patience, Eugene.

You seem to collect Edox watches. I have a Delfin much like the ones in the first image, but with dark blue dial. Bought it in the mid-1970's. Came on a bracelet, it's on a black aviator style strap now. Any idea as to the type of movement in those? Mine is still very precise and feels as new after just one cleaning/regulating round in all those years. Any source for more info on these watches, and their value at the moment?

Nice to see an interesting post revived - I think these just about count as cushion - Lemania-powered Tissot and c.860 Omega chrono -
Does my gold Cyma count?
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

I'm curious about the bracelet, do you have a photo?
Same feelings overhere, it's a robust movement 8)Originally Posted by Fschwep

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

It's almost the same; same case, same dial, only on mine the seconds hand is white without the red tip. And mine is handwound, yours seems to be an auto version, looking at the dial and your description of the movement.Originally Posted by neatlittlefellow
The bracelet was not Edox branded, I selected it separately at the same watch shop in Thun, Switzerland, where I bought the Delfin as a teenager. A fairly lightweight affair, although most links were apparently massive, just not very thick. At the time I swam quite a bit, and wanted a watch that was waterproof, shockproof, 17-year old boy proof. My mother was horrified when, on return in our holiday rental home, I filled up the washbasin, got the watch unpacked and dumped it straight in the water. 'Mum, it's supposed to be 200 metre waterproof. If it leaks now I can still go back tot the watch shop, that's going to be a lot more difficult once we're back in Holland.' It did not leak, of course, and it survived a lot of swimming, countless games of hard tennis, 16 months of military service in the artillery corps and years of ballooning, including some adventurous and rough things I did when I was still unexperienced and too full of confidence. One day, just after winding it, it just stuck and refused to run. It sat in a drawer for about a decade while I read the time off cheap Casios, until I bought a Sinn 256, got into the mood of mechanicals again and had the Edox checked. A good cleaning, fresh oil and it ran as reliable as always. :-) The dial has lost most of its luminosity, but otherwise looks like new.
Pictures later, but it is sitting on my desk as I write this, its case full of small dings and scratches, the acrylic cristal showing a lot of major scratches, but thanks to some minutes with a dab of Polywatch ordered from Eddie along with my PRS-4 it looks clearer than it did for many years. And it looks good on a black leather strap; I'll try it on a Speedbird RAF NATO later (that's in the mail actually).

Frank Schweppe

My most comfortable watch. Well, it would be, but for the cheap, typical-of-the-era, hair-grabbing Omega bracelet.
And today's acquisition. Also comfortable, despite its large size and crappy strap.
