Sounds reasonable.
Hi there, new member here. Just located a Tudor 79090 with papers. What would be a reasonable price to pay for it. From the pictures looks in about 80-90% condition. Seller is looking for £1,950 although best he can do is £1800! Is that a good deal.
All help appreciated.
Sounds reasonable.
Its an okay deal...I would pay no more than £1650 for a full set Tudor sub. Unless you really want it then you could push up to £1700...
Many thanks for your considered comments. I need to think about making a sensible offer. I really like to 79090 although the plexi dome would be a new experience for me and I am not sure whether I would like it!
Ah, its plexi, I like plexi. Maybe I went a little low on my estimates...
I would have said between 1500 and 1750GBP to be somewhere near...
£1500
Cheers,
Neil.
£1700 if it has an original bracelet is in good condition, the plexi is a more desirable model and if you kept it for a few years would go up in value
I paid £1795 for a full set blue dial, some may think thats too much but I really liked it.
I then sent it to RSC and got a replacement bracelet at the same time so I am mad :D
Different watch though isn't it. Why do people compare everything to the "ND Sub"? (Not just the poster I quoted)Originally Posted by learningtofly
Why buy the Tudor when you could have a full size SMP for five hundred quid less.
Doenst seem like a bad deal to me!

The SMP would mean dealing with the swatch group if you want an 'official' service and for that reason alone it is not worth having any long term Omega ownership plans
"Real thing"... Nonsense! They're both very desirable watches and if you were looking for something with a domed plexi you wouldn't be considering "the real thing" 14060, as far as I know. But you're the Rolex Fanboi... :lol:Originally Posted by learningtofly
In any case, I wasn't singling out your "comparision" and I was just using A. N. Other fifteen hundred quid watch to show my point. If you want a specific watch (in this case a 79090 Tudor) the price of it compared to anything else seems a non-starter. To me at least.Originally Posted by learningtofly

great buy, I have a 76100 and the Tudor subs are great watches which IMO will be very desirable in the futureOriginally Posted by Neil.C
good buy, I paid ~£850 for mine 21 years ago - still havent gotten round to getting RSC service on it must get that sorted this year....Originally Posted by Neil.C
Thanks for all the expert opinions: can anyone tell me which is the original bracelet (and how do I find that out!). Thinking of making an offer of £1,500 with cost of an AD check extra.
Good luck, here is the infoOriginally Posted by t4citurn

It's a folded bracelet in case you were wondering.

Sounds like the sellers trying to sell a 79090 for 76100 money..... I wouldn't pay any more than £1500 for this and box and papers will need to be exact and correct, as they are commonly found on fleabay for little money.
Remember a 79090 is around 95-05 ( iirc ) so I don't believe it will come in the Rolex style wooden box, it should be a grey fabric with cream inners.
Red with fawn liners surely?Originally Posted by thattallchap

I thought having 79090 on the case and papers would be enough.
It's a '93 model BTW.

It just looked like a Plexi glass 76100. But obviously if it's a 79090 it must be sapphire
No, it's plexiglass. :wink:Originally Posted by thattallchap

So based on these valuations, what % premium are we looking at for the Snowflake versions? Or are they similar in value...
Now I'm confused... I thought all 79090's were plexi and it was the 79190 that was sapphire? :?:Originally Posted by Neil.C

Who mentioned 79190? Not I
Snowflake is a different model completely afaik. But given Neil comments, what the hell do I knowOriginally Posted by Tenko

EDIT: Here is a photo of a 76100 (1984) in the foreground, a 94010 (1979) in the middle and a 79090 (1992) in the background. All are plexi. Dates are approximate, the 76100 serial places it about 1984 but the papers show it was sold in 1 Jan 1990. The 76100 box is red with a gray interior, the 79090 is red with a tan interior. I don't have the box for the Snowflake.

Edit: I see Saxy has laid it out for us.

Thank you, yes I know that they're different. I am in possession of a 7021. I have not idea of it's value and was asking if the values quoted in this thread were an indicative price for a Snowflake or do they command a % premium.Originally Posted by thattallchap

 What are you like! :wink:Originally Posted by Tai Mi Shu
Well, every time I set out to buy a Snowflake, I see what they are going for and save up that amount and then when I look around for one there aren't any and the ones that are available are too much money or so I think but actually that is the new price. So I invariably end up with something else. But the Tudor Subs are going up steadily from what I can see.Originally Posted by Tenko

dug this up as I'm on the look out for one as well.
£1500 seems about right, although the internet (even this thread) must contribute to bolstering the prices (indeed all of watches).
It only takes a quick Google to see what things are selling for.
As an example, I watched this 79090 for quite a few weeks hovering around the £2k mark on Ebay.
Then bang, they sold it (not to me) for £1550 - Looked like the full kit as well, almost NOS.

As an aside, your opinion on this snowflake would be much appreciated.
It looks nice, but is the dial too clean and markers too white for a watch of that age?
Currrently on Ebay at £1700 BIN
Thanks.

Oh well no 79090 for fathers day (a man is allowed to dream), just the usual chocs and socks - thanks kids :)
