Price for Tudor 79090

Hi there, new member here. Just located a Tudor 79090 with papers. What would be a reasonable price to pay for it. From the pictures looks in about 80-90% condition. Seller is looking for £1,950 although best he can do is £1800! Is that a good deal.

Its an okay deal...I would pay no more than £1650 for a full set Tudor sub. Unless you really want it then you could push up to £1700...

Many thanks for your considered comments. I need to think about making a sensible offer. I really like to 79090 although the plexi dome would be a new experience for me and I am not sure whether I would like it!

I paid £1795 for a full set blue dial, some may think thats too much but I really liked it.

I then sent it to RSC and got a replacement bracelet at the same time so I am mad :D

What is not real about it?

The SMP would mean dealing with the swatch group if you want an 'official' service and for that reason alone it is not worth having any long term Omega ownership plans :wink:

In any case, I wasn't singling out your "comparision" and I was just using A. N. Other fifteen hundred quid watch to show my point. If you want a specific watch (in this case a 79090 Tudor) the price of it compared to anything else seems a non-starter. To me at least.

great buy, I have a 76100 and the Tudor subs are great watches which IMO will be very desirable in the future

Sounds like the sellers trying to sell a 79090 for 76100 money..... I wouldn't pay any more than £1500 for this and box and papers will need to be exact and correct, as they are commonly found on fleabay for little money.

Remember a 79090 is around 95-05 ( iirc ) so I don't believe it will come in the Rolex style wooden box, it should be a grey fabric with cream inners.

A 79090 is plexi. A 79190 is sapphire.

EDIT: Here is a photo of a 76100 (1984) in the foreground, a 94010 (1979) in the middle and a 79090 (1992) in the background. All are plexi. Dates are approximate, the 76100 serial places it about 1984 but the papers show it was sold in 1 Jan 1990. The 76100 box is red with a gray interior, the 79090 is red with a tan interior. I don't have the box for the Snowflake.

Well, every time I set out to buy a Snowflake, I see what they are going for and save up that amount and then when I look around for one there aren't any and the ones that are available are too much money or so I think but actually that is the new price. So I invariably end up with something else. But the Tudor Subs are going up steadily from what I can see.

dug this up as I'm on the look out for one as well.

£1500 seems about right, although the internet (even this thread) must contribute to bolstering the prices (indeed all of watches).
It only takes a quick Google to see what things are selling for.

As an example, I watched this 79090 for quite a few weeks hovering around the £2k mark on Ebay.
Then bang, they sold it (not to me) for £1550 - Looked like the full kit as well, almost NOS.

It looks nice, but is the dial too clean and markers too white for a watch of that age?
