I think the standard black and white dial is still the most beautiful one. Nice to look and a snoopy or mars, for a day or two ;)
I'd have a Snoopy purely because Snoopy was always my favourite childhood toy, still got him in fact, so it would be quite a sentimental thing to have him on a nice watch.Originally Posted by Bender

If they'd stuck with the ring around the dial and avoided the rings around the subs it could have been a cracker. :|
:bootyshake:
Is this the moon watch?
Boring, horrible thing anyway.
Reminds me of The Italian Job.
Ner, ner, ne-ner ner ner... :P
Great film.
I like the speedmaster but there are too many LE. However, I really like the 50th anni one, very simple but quality understated.
LOL - Do we actually know what it's celebrating? I agree the sub rings give it a "childlike" appearance. Maybe one for NATO pilots over Libya - Red, White and Blue - France, US & UK?Originally Posted by Rob

"first fart in an A7L spacesuit edition". Honestly if Omega released that, I would buy it
i only like the snoopy le.
the rest i cant be bothered with.
ive always wondered what the speedy pro space affectionados would do if it was ever proven that the moon landing was faked.
(not saying it was, but was having a conversation about it yesterday.. and this thread reminded me)
Apollo 15....there is apparently an engraving of the lunar rover on the solid steel back. I have the 6 disc dvd boxset of this misson so I guess I should buy this watch :lol:Originally Posted by dkpw

A very silly idea IMO......I really don`t get the whole 'limited edition' crap at all.
Paul
Inspired by the Sinn 358 they have also come up with this.....
I honestly don't know how much further Omega can take this.
I don't know what the "afficianados" would do...Originally Posted by verv
But I'm pretty sure that Omega would hurriedly issue a comemorative "First-watch-to-pretend-it-went-to-The-Moon" limited edition.
Or how about a commemorative "First-watch-in-space-without-an-astronaut" limited edition?.. Just in case...
Mike.

Omega take note: THIS WAS MY ORIGINAL IDEA!!!... But I'll happily discuss licensing it to Y'All. :D

The colour is horrible.
I like the mission patch Speedys and my 30th anniversary but most are pretty naff.
Cheers,

Inspired by the Sinn? Unlikely. Looks to me as if they simply ported it straight across from the new Seamaster Chrono. The Sinn was hardly the first chrono with that layout!Originally Posted by Rob

I actually quite like that - are there and more details (Crystal / Movement / WR - basically the 'problems' that I have with my 'Pro).Originally Posted by Rob

In any case, I like that - well, specifically in that case actually

Have they actually made this one? Is it hand wind? (I'm guessing not by the Co-Axial lark).Originally Posted by Rob
I had the original (non LE of any kind!) Speedie and loved it, but got rid because of the lack of date.

The way they've done the red white and blue reminds me more of Russia than America. No idea what comrade Yuri was wearing but suspect not an Omega.

One minor problem is that we couldn't number this limited edition because "THE GUMMINT" could use the numbers to track potential buyers.
Thus... The only sure way to know if this particular limited edition was genuine would be to check the owners prescription medications... Not all that different from all the other limited edition Speedmaster Space Watch owners then.
Mike.
Quite like the look of that myself - what is the number in the edition?
It's just a matter of time...

Yes - sapphire crystal front and rear, modern, hi-beat automatic movement actually designed by Omega (not Lemania) with a date on it, and 100m WR. Everything that's impractical about the SpeedyPro, fixed (unless you go into space a lot).Originally Posted by JeffCansell
And I like the nice, wide specing of the subdials better than the cramped tri-compax you get in the current Speedmaster co-ax. But it's too big, at 44.5mm, and boy, it comes at a price. 7300 CHF, or Ł5,500 after FX and tax adjustment for the base steel version. You really have to want an Omega more than an equivalent Glashutte Original or classic Zenith.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

Walked by the local Omega AD earlier today. I noticed this one on display. I really think Omega borrowed the hands from Sinn!

Def too many LEs,I bought a 30th from new and dont even bother getting it outta the safe. Would give it to the kids but all girls! Maybe trade it when the mood takes me.

Here's one in Omega's new "orange gold" material which is ideal for people living in Monaco, Queensland and Miami, presumably:
