You are not allowed to withhold information ... come on, out with it.

Ok John :), your wish is my command...

    SwAF Lemania Chronograph

This one caught my attention last year when I saw one for sale but was "beaten" to it by fellow forumer "Clayman".
His beautiful pictures of the watch can be found HERE .

I'm generally not much for chrono's as you might have noticed but this one won me over for several reasons.
It is IMO very clean in it's design and surprisingly big with 42mm diameter.
But perhaps the biggest reason is sentimentality, I spent approximately 8 years working as an officer in the SwAF and I felt that it would be very nice to have a SwAF issued watch.

A few weeks ago I was informed by fellow forumers (thanks "watchless" and "pinjol"!) about where to find another one for sale and yesterday I made the deal :D .

It is in very good condition, especially considering that it is not refinished in any way and all parts are the original ones, no NOS parts has been installed.
It has one scratch on the back of the case and the crystal could use some polishing but apart from that it seems to have lived quite a protected life.

The lume fades very fast but I managed to capture it in this pic,

Instead of the usual "10 past 10" I seem to have set it to "10 to 2" while taking these pics .
But no one here would be anal enough to notice that, right   .

My first handwound and my first chronograph, 2006 has begun well indeed :) .

    Thanks for looking!

    /Stefan

The strap in the pics will be replaced shortly but since Louis claims he has sold the strap I guess I'll have to find something more conventional  .

Very nice, Stefan - congratulations! I agree it looks as if it has had a quiet life. I am surprised how well the lume in the bezel has lasted!

Beauty Stefan. And I think the plain strap sets it off really well. :D :D
    Best Regards - Peter

    Thanks Foggy.
Unfortunately this one was not found at a bootsale for a fiver  .

Thanks Sanjay but I've slowly started applying a "in/out" principle so with the arrival of this one I sold my SAR and the Seastar 1000.
Still, all in all a good trade IMO :D .

    Cheers

    Oh you as well.

In our old age we are becoming harrassed by our other half or going bankrupt??

Congratulations on a wonderful watch, Stefan! :D

May I ask whether the bezel is mono- or bidirectional, and does anyone know what type of strap it would have been on while issued?
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

The bezel is bidirectional, as for what strap it was issued with I have no idea.
Will let you know if I find out.

Nope, no other half at the moment and not really bankrupt either.
I'm more of a user than a collector and the watches I let go did not make it into rotation so to say.
Will probably miss the SAR a bit though...

    Thanks, will do :D .
Just have to find somewhere to smoke it, my apartment is not an option and smoking in public places is illegal here.
And outside will not be an option for a few months I'm afraid.
But I will find a way  .

Same problem here Stefan - total smoking ban in public places and I don't like to smoke cigars in the house as we've two young children so I generally sit in the car with my cigar and whiskey (parked in the drive of course!).
