What is it about Rolex? New arrival....:-)

What is it that makes me always return to them? Especially since I always said I would never wear one....
Must be the classic, no BS design and the reliability.

Anyway, here's a quick iPhone pic of the watch currently on my wrist. Love the perfectly balanced dial.

    Cheers

Yep, reliable all of my Rolexe's certainly were, and just the right size as well.
They are comfy on the wrist, and keep their value.
I love the rest of my pieces just as much, or more, but there will always be a Rolex in my collection :) .

    Cheers,

    Daddel.

    Not much.

    Well, you asked.......

Kidding aside, that is one of the few Rolex watches that almost works for me.
I had one and sold it due to size.

All time classic - best non date sub imo.

Unless the update is something really special then that is the one. 8)

Re: What is it about Rolex?

    Lovely.

On the subject of Rolex, I used to think there'd always be a Sub in my collection, but now I realise that what I actually meant was that there'd always be a sports Rolex. I'm not precisely sure what it is about them, and suspect that it's a multitude of things. I also suspect that if they were priced a little lower, and if the PR machine was a little less "efficient", there'd be no haters of this brand at all.

I mean, what is there to hate in the watches themselves?

    What is it about Rolex?

One thing I kinda hate about Rolex is that I just can not move away from it. Have tried many times and many times I have gone back and bought a Rolex instead. It's weird but I love it

Sometimes it is like - you will never ever know, if you never ever own!

    (no idea how/why...?!?)

Come on now, John. Although the designs are somewhat staid, there is no need to accuse Rolex of being lacking in that department also

I'd prefer it with snowflake hands, a date and Tudor on the dial. It's those Mercedes hands that I really don't like about Rolex.

    Loving it.

Very durable, styleproof design, and great for any occasion.

Personally I love the oyster case with its elegant curves and unbeatable Triplock crown.

Re: What is it about Rolex? New arrival....:-)

As you've found out, there is just "something" about them that makes them timeless classics and a pleasure to own/wear.

It took me a few years to understand what the fuss was about, I really didn't like them at all (especially the Mercedes hands) and thought I'd never have one as I didn't like them. FInally I bought one, simply to see what the fuss was about.... that was over 2 years ago now and I've still got that very watch (SeaDweller) and out of everything it is the ONE watch I would keep, the rest could go.

What you've got there on your wrist is pure class, pure and simple. It's stunning and makes me pine for another ND-Sub as it is more iconic than the SD (though I do quite like a date!)

    Enjoy

    Thanks :-)
While I agree with you that a date is really nice to have, I must say that the 100% balanced dial of the ND Sub has something to it that makes me forget about the missing date window. And I'm sure I'll get used to keeping the current date in mind ;)

    Cheers,
    Oliver
