Personally, I'd avoid anything with a "4" at the end of the title (having said that, Emanuelle 4 is pretty good )
Sat through the abysmal Resident Evil 4 last night (afterlife?).
Watched the other three and loved them, but this was a pile of poo IMO.
First one, quite a clever jumpy, claustrophobic zombie flick (loosely based on the original game)
Second one, decent enough abandoned city action movie with a bit of humour.
Third one was a watchable post-apocalyptic affair taking a new route and succeeding.
This one couldn't quite decide which direction to take I suppose. Trying to make a decent movie while staying loyal to the gamers by sticking in random zombies and baddies without actually explaining, er, much! Wesker (one of the original characters) was the main 'evil' and we got a three minute introduction and no explanation as to his mutations.
Surprised the original cast signed up to it to be honest. Almost the whole film was a based on a set piece that should really have been a half hour introduction.
Only my opinion of course, but I feel let down by an otherwise good franchise.
Watched 'The Wrester' and 'Expendables' this week, which set the bar fairly high I suppose as I loved both those.
Any other duffs about I should try to avoid??
Come on, post your movie let-downs...

Can't fault you there!
Almost added the new predator film to this thread.
Saw in in the cinema and wasn't impressed, watched it on dvd though, and it was pretty good!
Interesting that it also works for The Fantastic Four.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

I didn't like Resident Evil 2, or on the same theme Ultraviolet.
The Wrestler is excellent though, or if you'd prefer the same film but about country music instead of wrestling, Crazy Heart is also good.
Die Hard 4.0 was quite good, though it's a .0 at the end
Br,
AP.
If by "the same theme" you mean Milla Jovovich then have a look at "Stone".Originally Posted by mattk
The movie itself is pretty pointless, despite starring Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton, and went straight to dvd down here.
Milla's 'watchability' though is almost back to her Leeloo, in The Fifth Element, best. :love10:
2012 was a disastrous film
agree fully paid for this on sky box office a few weeks back after loving the first 3 and it was awful, I dont get how they could have made such a crap movie. Where did the 30+ clones at the start come from? all just stupid
They found a lab at the end of Resi 3 where they are cloning 'Alices', trying to replicate her mutations or whatever.Originally Posted by NikGixer750
Guessing thats where they came from - but there was no re-cap or anything to tell us.
That was the sort of script/storyline I wouldn't have expected the original cast to sign up to - one of those straight to DVD jobbies! :D
2012 was OK, I'm not a fan of disaster movies usually but it was watchable even if it was a bit of a crap ending...
Is that the one with George Lazenby in it?Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
