Very nice! I agree with Alan. It is meant to be worn.
Best wishes,

Very nice.
The parallel screws look neat too. :P :D

Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!
A fantastic piece! And curiously modern-looking, probably due to the clean dial and slim hands :D :D
Cheers,

Paul, can you post some profile and ¾ pics, please. The Lemania CAF has drilled lugs
and an interesting and elegant lug progile.

Here you go John.
Paul. :D
Oy vay! What curvy lugs, and drilled too 8) You are a very fortunate man! Thanks for posting!

Cheers. :D
How about one full profile? I want to see 'the depth' of the watch and 'the drop' of
the lugs. Pretty please?

Fits like its been moulded to the wrist. Paul.
That's a real cracker. You must be VERY pleased with it. :D
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
The lugs on the Lemania aren't as splayed as the ones on the Longines (and the Zeno version) and I can't decide which I prefer, although this Lemania looks fantastic with its polished finish.
Which version (of the lugs - and size) do you think Eddie's CAF homage will be closer to?
Thanks,
Jim :)
More than pleased Peter It has taken me aback a little i did not expect it to be in such wonderful condition it would be an understatement to say i have fell in love with it.
I don.t think that you can truly get a feel for it from pictures its superb on the wrist very very comfortable.
I am also sure Eddies Longines version will be a great watch one that i look forward to wearing.
Paul. :D :D
Wow! You got a goodun there! I am surprised at the drilled lugs, I would have thought it had fixed bars. It is in unbelievable condition, you can even see your camera in the crown! Has it had any restoration work done?
I love it, especially those lugs. Can one say 'bold and elegant'?
Sunnie
Grath as far as i have been told its been polished which is pretty well evident the dial looks original the hands seem original also. And the movement has been completly overhauled and rebuilt.
Paul. :)
.
Thanks Paul, that last pic is what I was looking for. Lovely profile, isn?t it? I like the brushed sides.
I always assume restoration unless somebody says different ... but to be honest with you ... that watch doesn?t look restored or polished. Just in case the movement has never been serviced (if you can find someone you can trust) it would be a good idea to have it looked at, if you are going to wear it. Excellent find.
The lugs on the Lemania do not splay and have a different profile ... the Longines is a thicker watch and has an extra level on the bezel. The Zeno is ?an impression? of the Lemania case with the splayed lugs of the Longines.Originally Posted by Jim:

Hi John the movement has been rebuilt and as of now its gained 7 secs in nearly three days.
It sits very low on the wrist which makes it look very special indeed it must be ok her indoors likes it
Paul. 8)
Excellent. It sounds better all the time. :DOriginally Posted by bandylegss

I love low-sitting watches ... a memento from different times, when "in your face" was considered uncouth. :DOriginally Posted by bandylegss
Congratulations, Paul! :)

Let's see, when was that? The age of huge codpieces? No. What about when garments (bliaut ?), for those who could afford them, were made out of extremely fine material, sometimes fur lined, and worn with huge belts made of gold? Ah, now that sounds restrainted. ;)Originally Posted by Crusader

I ahve seen many fashions come and go in the past 800-odd years ... suffice it to say that codpieces would certainly have been considered uncouth in the twelfth century, and sartorial tastes were much less extroverted than, say, in the 13th or 14th centuries. :wink:Originally Posted by rfrazier

The equivalent of a dress watch, surely. :wink:Originally Posted by rfrazier

The Zeno sits low but it's quite an in your face watch especially when one considers the period that the original CAF was being used.Originally Posted by Crusader

What a beauty. Btw, are those strap screws uncomfortable in practice?
Ming
What's the practice? :scratch:Originally Posted by Ming Thein

Probably some Kuala Lumpurian bondage ritual involving a lot of male nudity, leather, and a marmot.
Ming strap Screws are not uncomfortable at all
Paul. :D
Any chance of a pic of the movement?
I wont be filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, I am not a number, I am a free man, my life is my own!!!
Be seeing you

There you go Paul. :D
