Watches designed in the late 60s/early '70s - let's see 'em

I've realised that a lot of my favourite watches are designs from the late 1960s and early 1970s. It's mainly from being a fan of Heuers, but Omega brought out some lovely watches in that period too. Here are some Heuers, please upload pics of your watches (but only ones designed in that period!):

    Heuer 'Siffert' Autavia:

    Heuer Autavia Viceroy:

    Heuer Autavia:

    Heuer Ickx:

    Heuer Monaco:

Technically not a design from the late 1960s/early 1970s, but a very nice watch all the same!

1965 Military Issued Tudor - issued to USN Seal Team 2 and likely seen action in the push for Tet during the Vietnam War. Sadly sold back with my friend Eric.

Hmmm, think perhaps I didn't make myself clear. The Tudor and Rolex (and I suspect the Omega earlier on) are older designs, not actually designed in the late 1960s/early 1970s, but in the early 1950s. Those specific watches might have been made in that period but were designed much earlier. I am interested in seeing watches designed around the time of the Monaco etc.

Well, this was designed and made in the late 60's - dates to 1968, in fact. And I rather love it.

Well, that's my absolute favourite period for watch design but as I've already posted quite a few in the vintage chronos thread I'll be selective:

    The first Zenith Defy (1969):

    A 1969 El Primero:

Four from 1971, a bit of a golden year:

No - the Zeniths are very nice indeed.

With the exception of 2 watches my whole collection is from the late 60's / early 70's. A golden period in watch design if not movement design imho.

A few highlights most of which I'm sure you've seen before.

    Certina Chronolympic from 1975.

    Longines Ultronic from 1972.

    Omega Electroquartz from 1969.

    Omega Seamaster from 1970.

    Omega Constellation from 1973.

    Omega Seamaster 120 from 1970.

    Omega Seamster Chronostop from 1967.

    Omega Speedmaster MKII from 1970.

    Omega Speedsonic from 1973.

Plenty more but that should give you a pretty good idea.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Give him a break. He's on school hols and has probably had to battle thorugh all that snow and ice to get his paper round done :D

FWIW now that middle age has well and truly kicked in, I wish I had been born in 1972 :?

Kidding aside, this really proves just what a great time it was for some stunning watch designs. There are some super pics posted too. There are so many Speedmaster models for starters and the linen dial DJ is a corker too.

    Well done all :thumbright:

Thanks Dave, I was thinking the same about your fabulous Zenith collection :love4:

And just for you here's a few more 60's/ 70's Omegas.

Omega Constellation with a wonderful patterned dial (sorry can't remember what year but definitely early 70's).

Another Constellation Electroquartz with a beta 21 movement, this one's from 1972.

    Constellation Megaquartz from 1973.

And another from the same year.

And another Megaquartz this time a Seamaster but again from 1973.

    Speedmaster (176.0012) from 1975.

Stretching the early 70's theme a little here but what the hell, a Seamaster Chrono-Quartz from 1976.

That lot should hopefully bump this thread along nicely

    Cheers,
    Gary

Well, these two are reissues but are just like the original ones from the 70's:

And this is one of my favourites, I'm glad no one grabbed it in my moment of weakness when I've placed it on the SC:
