    Hamilton 6BB

I got this recently and I'm really getting into it, for an old watch, '74 issue, it keeps great time.

I've seen these go for between £75 and £275, I paid £125 for this example and am well pleased with the conditon of it.

Nice watch in a good condition.

Sorry for asking, but is it a manual or auto?

Looks to be in very nice condition Paul. :) Did you pick it up privately, or off the Bay?
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

    Paul,

Can you post a picture of the caseback markings please? I'm logging Hamilton and CWC W10 issue S/N's to see how many were issued and to whom etc.

    Thanks,

    Terry

Excuse me for hijacking your thread Paul, but Terry might be interested in the serial numbers of one Hamilton W10 and one CWC W10 I own. My Hamilton does not have the 'Geneve' written underneath the Hamilton script.

No problem Terry, here are the numbers off the back of my Smiths W10 should you decide to start logging these as well

    Hi Joseph,

Whilst we are in a thread hijacking mood :D

    Do you have a jeep?

I've got a Willys MB Slatgrill, MB102519 from Dec 41, Ex British Army number M1550911

    Cordialement,

    Adrian

Yes Adrian, I own Willys MB 135250 (estimated) on the g503.com serial number list. Now I'll surely get shot at ... mmm ... where's my trusty Lee-Enfield .303 ???

    Regards,

    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,

Yours is the first of the "proper" jeeps then :D

I'm 190cm, and driving a low windscreen early one can be a bit of a pain in the neck.

    Literally :)

My first jeep was MB122530, so a little closer to yours.

    "See you on the Gee"

    Best Regards,

    Adrian

    Adrian,

I do not have your problem of neck pain whilst driving the jeep ... at 1.75m short and 63kg I'm a perfect fit for my jeep  Weather permitting you could choose the best option ... nothing beats driving your jeep with the windshield folded down on the hood!

    Regards,

    Joseph

    Amen to that!

Mind you, having driven from Nottingham to Arnhem and back a few times in a jeep with no screen (not all at the same time) :) , it reminds me of freefalling several hundred miles.
I find you spend a lot of time asking people to snap your frozen fingers off the wheel, and having to say "Pardon" quite often after the wind buffet.

Perhaps the weather is a little kinder where you are :)

Haute Savoie still has the same density of working jeeps as the UK has series 2 landrovers. I see a new one (Ford Willys or Hotchkiss) every week, though no early ones.

    Best Regards,

    Adrian
