Dusty's version was superb, but a brilliant cover of "I don't know what to do with myself" by The White Stripes in an obviously different style.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

That's a great cover Neil. I've long been a fan of the Stripes (and Dusty).

This is a great version of a Bob Dylan cover that Bryan Ferry does very well, from his "Dylanesque" album . . .

Mott's 'once bitten twice shy' covered brilliantly by Great White and Zeppelin's ' when the levee breaks' by - I kid you not- WASP their cover and especially the live version kicks arse.
Sorry no links but both are really worth a listen.

    Oldie but goodie.
Much prefer the Joe Cocker version of 'with a little help from my friends' to the original.

    In a different genre...

In the 1950s and 60s Jacques Loussier made a name for himself by adapting JS Bach to jazz.

This is his version of the Italian concerto

Well, everybody in Casablanca has problems. Yours may work out.

Very unlikely - and not half bad either - though personally I still prefer Peter Gabriel's version that was the closing tune to the film "Lone Survivor"

The whole of Scratch My Back is worth a listen.

I heard a version of this by Mikey from Westlife on Radio 2 yesterday (actually wasn't bad!), so I've looked out the Herbie Hancock/Corinne Bailey-Rae version:

I watched an episode of Black Lightning on Netflix which featured Latimore's 'Let's Straighten It Out'. Loads of very good covers on YouTube including:

    Something a little earthier:

I heard this original version on (internet) radio this morning.

That sent me to Youtube to listen to the Roger Daltrey cover:

I ran a quick search on the forum, to see if this had been posted before - and the only reference I could find was in another thread:

I beg to differ. Mark Ronson's / Winehouse production is way better than the original.

Just ignore the first 30 seconds of (c)rap.

Tish and pish. Here is a good cover of Rocket Man however; probably not better than Elton's but still pretty good
