That Alfa is a real looker, stunning 8)
I have been in one of those 8) , still prefer the look of the stradale though as it looks much closer to the period GT racing car
My fav, the iconic RUF CTR :)
Oh, and I better mention this - 288 GTO - had this very poster on my wall when I was 14 :D
I love the RUF CTR but I'm not sure I'd describe it as beautiful - more purposeful looking to my eyes.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

ferrari dino 206 for me please. in yellow.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
This one for me. As for the RUF, it's certainly a good car, but beautiful?
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
LOL controversy on the RUF!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that - the CTR has purity about it, a classic shape made even more defined for a purpose - some of the others shown do absolutely nowt for me :P

I had a poster of one of these:
Still toying with the idea of getting one...
Christ, there's been some pig ugly cars posted on this thread  .
In terms of sheer beauty, it has to be the Series 1 E-Type
Ahem...I think it may have been me!Originally Posted by 082013

Ferrari 330P4 for me please
Couldn't agree more. IMO the E-Type will never be beaten for it's stunning looks and against it everything else is 'just a car'.... :)Originally Posted by catflem

I agree that the Ruf Yellowbird is more purposeful than beautiful, but it's one of the most astonishing cars I've ever been in.
Best looking 911 - I'll take a 993 GT2
As for the E Type - yes it's lovely, but I prefer the D Type.
Ferrari's made loads of beautiful cars - 246 Dino, 250 & 288 GTO among them. I also love the McLaren F1 & the Alfa 8C, but the one I'd take home is the Aston Martin DBR1

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Maserati A6GCS (any of them). Here's the one at Goodwood FOS at the mo:
And the Mercedes 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe. Two were made, Rudi Uhlenhaut was the Mercedes racing chief engineer and faster than some of their works drivers (he was too important to Merc as an engineer to be allowed to race). The Coupes were built as development cars for the 1956 racing season, but after the 1955 Le Mans disaster, Mercedes pulled out of racing and the SLR Coupes were road registered. Rudi used one as an everyday car. Mercedes own them both and are rumoured to have turned down offers in the tens of millions from collectors. Some fairly dull pics from Google:

Miura for me:-

Truly some automotive icons in this thread. E-Type mentioned and the faaantastic Uhlenhaut Merc! Does a body good!
Some of the vintage Bugattis, that were shown in a thread som time ago, also does it for me.
About the Magnum P.I. Ferrari - I spotted this bit of trivia, as I wondered about the exact model and year of the motor, that Tom Selleck drove. I do not know whether or not this is true, but here goes:
"Actually, 3 models were used:1979 308 GTS, 1981 308 GTSi, 1984 308 GTS QV . They had to be modified for the very tall Selleck. Padding was removed from the seats so he would sit lower. The seat was bolted as far away from the steering wheel as possible to provide more room. And think about it, you rarely saw Magnum driving with the top on."
For me it would be a Ferrari 250GT SWB. Mmmmmm
Yep, made my post before seeing this. Good choice Boddah. The nicest one I've ever seen was silver with I think a single blur e racing stripe over it. 8)Originally Posted by boddah

Mr GOAT is quite correct. The Ferrari 330 P4 is the most beautiful car ever designed.
Looks cross-eyed. I love Morgans but don't really go for the ancient and modern look.Originally Posted by TomWazza

Must admit, that I am a big fan of Morgans, but whether or not one is a fan of Clarkson, I can not get over how cross-eyed this one is :shock:Originally Posted by Seabadger
I lived in Malvern when it was developed, it had a big visual impact at the time and is beautifully made but not really my cup of tea either.
288 GTO a personal fave from childhood, 250 GTO what a classic. Would love a Ruf one day but its more than a tad mental that one, I am sure you have all seen the famous video

I think a Ferrari 250 GT california Spyder is very nice,
and the 288 is another classic
but may be not in white,
thats better.
but my favourite has to be either a 250 LM or a 250 SWB, can not decide, ( I have not had the chance to take picture's of these yet sadly )
but for use as a toy, I want this please.
Great pics of some great cars!!!
I may be slightly biased... 8)

The Alfa is stunning - a thing of sheer beauty... 8)
I like the Aston Martin's old and new. They seem to have iconic designs.
Not sure if it's the most beautiful but it's probably the most iconic sports car ever produced. I'm sure it's been on more walls than any other car ever and even though it is completely outclassed by newer vehicles it still looks the business and pulls the petrolhead strings in a way no other car has yet to match.Originally Posted by RobboMedic

But i wouldnt mind having a gt40 in the garage:
Might have to raid the kids biggy bank for this one.....
Still the top of my fantasy wish list mind.
Regards Tim.
Only trouble is that's not a GT40 its a modern Ford GT with GT40 badges.Originally Posted by Time Cat
