A word of caution if you are thinking of selling the car to a BMW main dealer after re-mapping. Don't Bother...

Got to love those Dallas Mercedes SL's. I've been very tempted more than once.
I also saw a Fiat 500 for sale the other day for 10K.

Very nice collection you have there. All very cool cars.

Nice Blu/Blk with Mushroom best colour combo but I would say that as I have a 124 &129 in the same colour combination! Straight Six is the best as well in a 107 the old V8's can get a bit tappy at that age...looks clean and a low mileage one, big money now though, enjoy!

Thank you very much. Love old mercs.

    Favourites are:
    300sl gullwing / roadster.
    600 grosser.
    560 sec
    280sl pagoda
    500e

Now, the r107... This is my 2nd one. Love the looks of them. I am particular when it comes to condition... I have great guys working on it though. We just did the chassis / suspension detailing.
I drove a few r107 v8 and i have to say the 500 is very special. Whatever people say. It is a very fast car. Doesn't like corners much though. If i had find one in the correct condition / mileage / colour combo / spec, i would have had a 500.

Next one for me is 280sl pagoda.

Yep Gullwing is my grail and also love the Pagodas, rot boxes though from the inside out be very careful, could have bought a cracker a 73 280 SL in light blue 10 years ago for £15K and thought it was too much, got the 500E that's my 124 in Blu/Blk pic further back in the thread....2nd one I have owned and highly recommend, great drivers!

Cool, yup seen your car. Often came close to buy.

Hard to find without intergalactic mileage.

Good ones are rare and expensive.

280sl, will only buy top restored car with subframe treated etc...

Pics of my car receiving chassis tlc, new oem shocks, bushes, geo and fine detailing:

Despite what the magazines say, the post facelift cars rotted just about as much as the pre-facelift. The bits they galvanised were not the bits that typically rotted anyway (plenum in front of windscreen being the worst)

There were of course many other little differences that make post facelift desirable, but rust is not one of those differences.

Mine is August 1985 and has odd bits from both having been built 3 days before cut over which makes ordering parts a little bit of a lottery.

Looking at the 300 above makes me feel very depressed about the condition of my car........ Stunning looking car in excellent order

    635 csi?

Very hard to find good clean ones. Bit like my sl above, plenty of crappy ones around, but try and source a good one in a nive colour.. Good luck..

+ you share the name of a famous motoring journo from EVO..

    BMW 6 series

Love the 635 CSI I had an 1983 628i a few years ago. Mine was Henna red with green velour Recaro interior. Sounds bad but it was ok though I would have preferred leather given the choice.
A great drivers car. Not particularly fast by today's standards but fast enough and a comfy ride with surprisingly good handling when pushed.

And of course a great looking machine to boot. I certainly wouldn't rule out another CSI in my future.

635CSI auto. I drive a mint original 1989 Mk2 Golf GTI 16v as my other car, so my comparator is not a modern vehicle when I say it drives SMOOTH!

    Have a few cars

My weekend toy have owned this since age of 16 (now 22) I will never sell it currently building a 1330 supercharged engine for it :)

My daily driver owned this for a year and to be honest don't really use this has been sorn since august due to being at University had to change the turbo and bottom end not long after owning it so want to get a bit of use out of it before I sell it!

Project car pick this up tomorrow gave £140 for it not 100% sure what I am going to do with it yet...

Future plans are to flog the golf in 12 month and replace it with something like a 335i or maybe a Z4 3.0 SI Coupe basically something around the £10 - £12k mark as finish Uni in a month and have a graduate job secured so will be able to afford something more decent!

when its not raining I have a Joyner buggy which I can take on the road and also green lane with. the experience is similar to a cross between piloting a rally car and a tiger moth. on a sunny day its a total blast
