No chance, it just about fitted on the drive. Good job I didn't go for the extended bed twin cab!

Well I'm 30 and go to work in a suit! The car is fantastic and, regardless of what anyone else might think, I wouldn't change it!

A fair bit longer than a modern bike. Its like having ABS.
Its 32 years old and its the same model I learnt to ride on all those years ago. A trip down memory lane. It also has a very rare 23 inch front wheel.

    That sounds about right.

I remember taking my lessons on a cg125 with drums. For the emergency stop the instructor said just grab as much brake as you can, there's no way you'll lock up. He was right.

It was the one car I promised myself I would own at some point in life. Only lightly tuned with 400bhp at the engine which is plenty quick enough!

Got this at the start of the year and very happy with the car,

2,2 diesel gives around 35 mpg daily and 50+ on a motorway run, plenty of toys including a decent sound system having usb port and has enough power for an old man who battles speed cameras on a daily basis.

I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE

I agree with the above. I've got a 5er with a beige interior, 22k and 9 months later it still looks spotless even though I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old that both do their best to destroy it.

I can see why you'd use that in the summer, that colour looks amazing when the sun comes out.

Yes, thanks for the comment. Midnight purple is my favourite colour. I've had two GTR in that colour since 1997.
Its a little harsh for a road car, but bearable in summer...perversely, I had 12 days at the Nordschliefe last yr, but the wettest number of summer laps I can remember in 10 yrs, but I enjoyed the car lots having forgot how much fun
it can be in sustained wet weather use However , getting old girl clean again took a day or so !

I use an M5 in winter....more flexible and he ride doesn't induce a piss break once an hr !

I can relate to that. My weekend toy is a fairly full on Subaru complete with rock solid chassis, straight through exhaust and a straight cut gearbox.

I have developed a rudimentary sign language to communicate with any passengers foolish enough to get in it. It mainly consists of pointing at my ears, shaking my head and mouthing "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!".

    Today I was driving...

The new Cayman S, although unfortunately only for 30 minutes. A very impressive motor, almost tempted to call it a bargain.

I bought my second car yesterday! Been saving my pennies for a long time for it and am over the moon at the moment!

    It's a 56 plate BMW 320i M-sport with lots of toys.

Being 22 and having driven a MG ZR for the last 4 years, it's a huge step up. Loving it!

Here's the old Z, which I will miss dearly. Nothing could have been more fun for what I payed for it 4 years ago.

    And here's the new BM.

I like the R34 GTR....its a better stiffer chassis out of the box than my old girl.
But, I like the look if my R33 though and its quite a trick spec and totally reliable !

Noticing the pic's on the rollers, what power is it pushing? I keep wondering about getting mine tweaked a tad but at the moment its just so driveable! That and the fact I already have a track toy fiesta!

    Thanks,

Trying to think now, but yes on both counts for the location I think.

    MR2 was about 2004 (and 300bhp)
    S2000 was 2007 (and 375bhp)

I'm more recently into off-roading hence the Hilux, but am looking for something fruity for the weekends.

It is like going cold turkey though, I've been (heavily) modded car free for 3 years now.

    Hi John
keep the Fiesta as the track car. R34 GTR is going to get quite rare and not really an expendable item.
My car is clocking some big numbers at the Nordschleife in places....if it were to come off, it ain't ggoing to polish out ! I've seen enough GTR popped and splatted there..

The pic is a live link. The old girl made 462 @ the wheels so a reasonable mid 550.
i punt it around mostly @ 1 bar which is fine for the road.
i did all the work on the cars including the engine rebuild on this one so I have a lot of emotional investment in the car now....not ideal for a track tool.

really love the 2 door Scoobies.

Here's a link to a rather damp lap of the NS I did last yr to test some recording equipment.
It was...very slippery with cold tyres but it gives you an idea....

Cheers for the advice, I will do my best to resist temptation and make do with my 240bhp fiesta:-)

Hadn't realised it was a link, sounds nice. Must be spirited with 550! Nice one for doing all the work, that's even more impressive.

Technically this is mine, though up for sale on commission at at Cameron sports cars......
    http://www.cameronsportscars.co.uk/i...?back=%2Fstock
if anyones looking, you won't find a better one! it was just under 76k new ,so grab a great car for a 50k discount for 12k miles?
    215 road tax
    40mpg
and more torque than a 911 turbo-the 3 guys I know who have them have all had 911's,which is curious...
seriously nippy "real world"car- I dont think I can remember driving any other car that could, say, average 69mph without going over 70- if you get my meaning!

A Lexus RX400h (hybrid). It has 269bhp, 3.3ltr petrol engine, 0-60 in 7.2 and gives around 32mpg. Not bad for almost 2ton of car.

My road bike is a 1999 Aprillia RSV1000 Mille that I have had since 2001.

And my track bike is a 2000 Suzuki GSXR600.

Alfas are not that common here, but you do see them quite often. As in the UK, they are haunted by the poor quality and unreliability myth.

Taken on a roof top carpark in Mong Kok on the Kowloon side.

Here is another one. Car park double.
