Comes with a letter of providence from the owner's butler eh? I suppose if you can't be arsed to buy a replacement set of keys to your Merc SL, writing your own letter must be massively out of the question!

Owned this for over 9 years now, I've posted about my Elise before however I think this is the first time my 350z has appeared on this thread.

I love it more now than when first purchased.

Lovely looking car. The originals look so much nicer than the newer, blinged Nismo versions. Love the alloys too.

    Well, you've made me jealous!

I took a 96 Suburban in p/ex many years ago, not built for UK roads or parking spaces but compounded my love for all things BIG and Amurican.

I work for Group 1 Automotive (your 3rd biggest dealer group) but in the UK, I hope to get out to you guys for a few years in the near future. My boss thinks its to learn more about the business, but its genuinely because I want an F150 Raptor as a company whip.

Never going to happen though! Would love one over here but they're £s for $'s if not more ($100k equivalent), the steering wheels on the wrong side and it'll still hang out the Parent and Child parking spaces by about 6 foot. We can but dream eh!

Enjoy your new truck in good health though chap. I'm still looking at the pic longinlgly..

I bought this Seat Altea two weeks ago, I can't believe how noisy and rattly my old Honda had become until I drove this!!

I'm a bit of a technophobe but up to press i've paired my phone to the car and called the wife from the drive!!

I've also used an MP3 player in the USB port and a card reader with an SD card full of music!!, I even used the inbuilt satnav yesterday!!

The car didn't come with a spare wheel just an air pump and an aerosol of glue to pump in so I nipped over the hills to Glossop and picked up a spacesaver+ tools that I won on fleabay!!

Boxster 981.... 'cause every car nut must, once in their life, own a Porsche.

    Just after 35 hours detailing!!

Now looking unbelievable (and how I expected it to come from the dealer back in January). Three sessions of DA polishing and then ceramic coating and hood treated and sealed. The only problem now is it's too clean to drive!

IMHO a very sound buy. The new turbo versions do nothing for me and I strongly believe the prices on these will hold very steady for some time, virtually free motoring I reckon. Enjoy it

    What do you drive?

My 981S lasted three weeks. Must have been the colour. Awful thing. The gearing was painful.

I can say with some authority that the earlier Boxters / Caymans will now rocket in value.
I sold my 2006 Cayman S a few weeks ago and it always happens to me.

Absolutely stunning but, indeed, how could you ever drive it now... Put it under a dust cover in the garage immediately!

If it's not too sensitive a question, how much would that kind of treatment cost?

£680 plus a couple of packets of biscuits and a box of tea bags to keep him fuelled whilst he was working :-) I'll be honest I doubted the expenditure before hand and I really didn't believe it was possible to spend 35 hours simply cleaning a car but seeing this guy work and the gob smacking amazing results I'd have no hesitation recommending this sort of treatment. The swirls and scuffs that were there last weekend have simply vanished and what's left is a mirror smooth surface that water simply won't stick to.

He (the Detailer) has told me NO dust covers... let it get dusty and then rinse it off and blow dry (I now have a proper car dryer/blower!).

You lucky, lucky, b*****d. I've recently been perusing the various sites for 'proper' landrovers for sale - itching to get back to the marque. There's not a week goes past that I don't think back with dreamy eyes to when we were a landrover family. Unfortunately the simply stupid prices people are asking now means it'll probably never happen :-(

At that sort of money and the cost of some of the finishes, it's amazing he's still in business. That's very cheap for such a thorough job, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had cost you double that amount.

I'd have guessed at a good chunk more as well, would have put a 4 figure number on 35 hours worth of detailing including the cost of the materials used. Sound advice ref the dust cover, anything draped over a vehicle could potentially trap contaminants between the paintwork and the cover and create the swirls and marks that have just been polished out. Dust settling on the paintwork won't cause any damage, and neither should non-contact washing and drying.

All strikes me as a bit anal, it's a bloody car at the end of the day. £800 for cleaning a car, I thought my local at £3.50 was expensive.

    Different folks and all that.
