I know nothing
But I like the look of it.
Sorry for the poor picture but this is all I have at the moment..
I have just bought this
Hate to ask a daft question (esp after buying it) but are ther any Enicar experts out there that could tell me a litle more about it?
The movement appears to be similar to those fitted to the Sherpas.
Anyhow any details or pictures of similar one would be nice.
Thanks Barry

Great vintage. Enicar - I have a few too - but I also have a Racine - Jules Racine is the man - and he was behind both Racine and Enicar - which is just his name spelled from behind :)

The movement looks similar to the one in my Sherpa Jet:
Movement: 1146B (AR)
However, as mine has a 24 hr complication and yours does not, but has a date, it is probably an Enicar calibre 1145:
More info on the movements can be found here http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-...k&Enicar_1146B
Very nice looking piece, congratulations.
I have a couple of hand wind Enicars, each 17 jewels. Some wanna-be watchmaker once told me that Enicar used to make in-house high quality movements but during the '70s went to cheaper bought-in ones, hence the genuine Enicar ones are more desirable.
That bloke usually talked a load of crap so I'd take that with a pretty sizeable bucket of salt.
Here's one of mine, no movement shot though :

Thanks for the info..the movement does seem to match the Sherpa.
I have to wait for it to be posted though as there is a Fortis to go in the same parcel
I will of course take some proper pictures as soon as it arrives...the waiting (for both of them) is killing me !
Lovely vintage, nice copperised movement. Would love to see more shots of the caseback.Originally Posted by Barry
Just to share pics, here's one new old stock Enicar I bought a few years ago. It's a small one, 30.5mm across without the crown.

sorry i know nothing about Enicar, but i really like the look of it, well done
You should be able to see what movement is in it, because it's supposed to be written on it.
Is there Enicar written on the rotor ?
I've never seen such a watch, and few things looks weirds.
First, the dial looks like Seamaster 300 dial, military version.
So does the bezel.
I should say : it is a replica of the Omega dial.
Have a look :

There has been few divers from Enicar with external bezel (such as the divette), but most Enicar divers had inner rotating bezel.
Then, the litterature on the dial is very strange. Preciselly because there is none but Enicar and Automatic.
Most Enicar dial are indicating the model ref. (ie look at the Sherpa jet or the Star jewel shown on this thread)
I do not know every Enicar model, but I will not be surprised to hear that this one is a fake.
To me, it is one.
''We buy any car''.........dot com........
Sorry, could'nt resist! Great looking bit of vintage you have there 8)
I have to agree it does not seem genuine, the 300 seamaster lookalike dial is used in a few fakes so I agree it's not "right"
The movement does seem to be from a Sherpa though!
The watch is still on the way I will take some decent pictures when it arrives.
