    PRECISTA PRS-50-B

Thinking about one of these as a beater for car wash, gardening duties etc. Anyone got / had one? How good are they? Thanks.

too nice for a beater, also the watch stands proud esp. with the domed crystal, not beater material imho

Not really beater material, firstly they are polished and acrylic crystal so it will show scratches badly and secondly they are really thick so you will be forever catching it against things if your using your hands a lot, better off with a nice seiko diver or if it really must be a PRS then the 17, 18 or 3 would all be more suited to beater duties, I use a cheap Seiko 5 for such things and take it off if its going to get very wet but that's just me. :D

    A beater. What the f...

I won't be using my LE for washing the car... But then I don't wash my car as there are people around who do it much better than me!!!

Trust me if you get a 50b you will want to wear it for best it's beautiful.

Sorry guys, did not mean to offend. I had thought from an initial scout around that the 50 might be an option, but as you say, it now looks too nicely finished for the job. Think again.
