Good luck with the day itself Chris.
So, you've narrowed it down to just 10 then
Hello All,
I am getting married in about 3 weeks (16th Feb) and cannot decide on which watch I am going to wear.
I have narrowed it down to 10 and was wondering if you guys would help me choose.
the contenders.
Many Thanks All,
Chris.
Good luck with the day itself Chris.
So, you've narrowed it down to just 10 then
I dont think this thread will be much help its such a personal thing, good luck though 8)
(I ticked both Rolex btw :D)
Thanks :)Originally Posted by PeterM

cheers,

The GP just seems the right choice for me. I always think nice dressy pieces suit these traditional occasions better. Congratulations BTW! :)
GP or white explorer for me. Good luck mate. Check the vows for any adverse reference to watch buying! :D
I ticked both Rollers too, good to see them back on their bracelets BTW :D
Good luck navigating the uncharted waters of married life matey :D
Cheers
Stern
I put GMT II. I think it will look fantastic on the day!
Mark
I would go with the GP and the GMT Master II. You should wear the former with your tux and keep the latter for the honeymoon!!!
If you're wearing a morning suit, wear the GP. if you're wearing a lounge / business suit, wear the GMTII. If you're thinking of wearing a dinner jacket or "tuxedo", don't.
All the best for the big day
I went for GMT 2 and Brietling. Go for the GMT 2, it will look fabulous. Good luck!!
Do you want to borrow one of mine
I guess the GP is the closest you have to a dress watch. Being old fashioned I would have preferred a gold dress watch. I guess these days even the GMT will do.
I think Seabadger's advice is good.
Have a nice day no matter what you choose. The watch isn't really that important :-)
JK
The Exp II, for the honeymoon, or the Ball, for its, ahem, night-time illuminating properties... :D
Congrats by the way, enjoy the day.
No question about it mate - it's got to be the Rolex GMT!!!
GMTII for me although the GP makes a very nice dress option 8)
PS Congrats!
"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
It is a very personal choice, and I'm guessing the poll is only a guide and hopefully the final decision is going to be yours, and maybe your good lady.
BTW - I voted for the Explorer II as you are going to be starting a journey and what better way to start then wearing a travel watch
GMT, but any of the rollies will do.
This might sound a bit strange but my vote isn't an option....that is,don't wear one.
Let other people worry about what time it is and who should be doing what and when, concentrate on enjoying your wedding day.
Later on when the speeches are over and the booze is flowing, then stick your favourite, most worn on...the one that will feel most comfortable.
Best of luck to both of you Chris, and may you enjoy many years together!
(slush over)
I voted the Ball, Chris - then you'll be able to see the time throughout the whole day.
GP for me too, personally I'd go for a watch that has some significance in your life though.Originally Posted by uwtc

Best of luck for the day.
Not the SO as I wore that :D
Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
Gotta be the stealthy Exp II
wow, looks like there is only 3 real contenders  .
Thanks for all the votes so far, and of course thanks for all the best wishes.
cheers
chris.
Congrats! Personally I wouldnt wear a sports watch for the big day. I would go with something classy and elegant. Maybe an excuse to buy another watch???
I voted for "none of the above" on the basis this would make a good opportunity to buy another watch.
I'm sure your wife to be would agree, when you ask her that you want something new for your special day. Hope it all goes well by the way and you and your good lady really enjoy it.
I went GMT classic and you can wear it in Honeymoon timezone
or
The Ball as you dont want to be late and as you are no doubt aware ball created the phrase 'On The Ball'
have a great day and future together
its my 15th anniversary this week still very happy
I would have chosen either the Ebel or the GP.
Because they will fit easily under a shirt or other clothing and they are classy and chique in stead of sporty and tough.
Anyway, now we've chosen the watch; let us have a look at the wives to choose from, please :bigsmurf:
Marc
Well, I voted for the Glycine. But I'll suggest you put it on a leather strap... :)
Good luck with the wedding!
Regards,
Erik
+1 from me!Originally Posted by village

Kind of with Village on this one, except when I got married I seem to remember being the only one sober enough to tell the time and organise things, my best man having wandered off sometime in the afternoon, never to be seen again!
I would wear something I intended to keep, cos I'm a bit sad like that, as it would remind me of the day whenever I wore it :)
Best wishes whatever you choose
Explorer II or Girard Perregaux, but then I think you should let her decide which one to wear; that way there will be peace :D
Congratulations and best of luck!
I voted the Ebel as its a very classy watch and the residuals are poor so you wont be selling it!
Ive noticed that folk on this forum have an obcession with black divers nad speedys :D
depends what youre wearing chris. personally i think the white explorer ii is one of the best looking watches out there.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Both beautiful, both yours or do you have to buy/borrow them?

GP all the way - pure, understated class.
Cheers,
Girard Perregaux on a black strap or the ExII - depends on your style of
the wedding.

its looking very close between the GP and the Ex2.
I am really starting to like the idea of the GP now that its on the black strap.
Keep on voting , time is running out :D
cheers
chris.
It would be absolute madness not to use the wedding as an excuse for a new watch.
i have already tried that one but the answer from the future wife wasOriginally Posted by cmcm3
might have something to do with the fact we haven't even paid the reverend yet

Actually there is a man of the cloth among us. I distinctly remember him saying that he would be happy to relieve us all of our Sinns
