I agree. IMO it was too harsh with the black second hand. The red softens it by adding a little colour.

My vote would be for the red second hand.
Yes, I'd be interested in that. Sounds like nonsense, so please educate me.
BTW, what's sound engineering got to do with telecoms?
It was available for a while and then sold out. Then it came back again briefly but seems to be sold out again. I didn't order one the first time around and regretted it so, as soon as I saw it was...
The last bits and bobs for my next mod arrived this afternoon and I couldn't wait to put this one together.
This is a 710SE from Meranom which possibly didn't really need modding. It's one of his...
Unfortunately, although his bezels are some of my favourites, I cannot recommend the bezel maker pers184 any more and would recommend you to take notice of the following thread on WUS:

I thought of that too, so I placed my order before posting above ;-)
Recently, meranom started offering stainless steel replacement crowns for the Amphibia. I received a couple a few days ago and swapped them on to a couple of my mods. They're much, much nicer than...
Very nice combo! Is that an AM-watches bezel?

That does look really good. I do like those bezels, they go extremely well with a 420 case and that one sets off the dial nicely.

A rainy weekend gave me the chance to use the 710 case vacated by the 512 dial used in the black Amphibia above. All of the parts for this one were sourced individually and I spent a happy couple of...
The combination of 512 dial, Seiko hands and the 710 case above (click) turned out very well, but wasn't the result I had been planning for the dial and hands. I'd actually put them together for a an...
Beautiful combination.
Yes, of course! Good work indeed.
Lume is the next topic to learn on my list. Up till now I've not ventured to change the lume. Any tips would be appreciated - what lume do you use, how do you...
Exactly what I was going to ask! Very nice.
Here's a temporary mod. I have a particular goal in mind, but while I'm waiting for a case to be ready I wanted to try out the combination of Seiko hands with a 512 dial.

Congratulations! Which one did you go for?
Now have a look here (click) and start ordering some bits.
Careful though, it can be somewhat addictive. :-)
Looks great with the clean bezel.
...and that's a lovely Ruhla clock.
The 090-case wears largest IMO, although it's a matter of taste whether the tonneau case is your thing. The 710 case is a good size, but I personally find it a bit tall. I find the 100-case is the...
It certainly is. That's very nice indeed.
This is how mine looked when it arrived from Meranom (and then after a little modding): http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.php?325643-Vostok-Amphibia-mods&p=3656133&viewfull=1#post3656133

I had a look on his site and the only one he doesn't seem to have in stock is the one in the pics above (VO1060). The other three types seem to be (at the time of posting) available:

That's one of the new pers184 bezels, no?
Very nice indeed.

Here's my latest mod. A 100SE from Meranom, with the movement and dial transplanted to a bead blasted 100 case. Along with a Murphy bezel I had in my box, the case has been treated with aluminium...
You could try persuading her by just handing over the finished object... :-)
