Thanks for the heads up on the Whiskyshop - a bottle of Glendronach 18 (hopefuly from the 2019 batch) winging its way to me :eagerness:
The 5711, to my thinking, gets damn close to the perfect balance between sports and dress watch. It is incredibly thin cased but still has enough water-resistance and durability to be worn regularly....
Beautiful watch (and photograph).
It's nice to be reminded that there is something really satisfying (or cathartic?) about winding a watch.
Aftraid not. It's just the "meteor grey" dial with the stainless.
Thanks Adam - your reply makes good sense.
I remember wincing at the price of the X-71 bracelet but completely agree that it was a very well engineered thing (complete with fitting kit!).
Thanks for the advice Adam - I was thinking of going with the steel.
Do you know the size of wrist that the bracelet would fit as standard? I have an 8" wrist and had to buy an extra link for a...
Thanks for the 'heads-up'. Will definitely go to this.
I think I am coming down on the side of the steel version (3 hand). Good to hear that it stands up to a bit of abuse.
Not sure about the bracelet though - I'm going to make some calls and see if...
That's exactly what I thought about the grey dial when I tried it on. Thanks for the photo on the bracelet - the first I've seen that's not a stock photo.
I can see how the black face of the titanium would work well with that strap. I will look out for one to try on.
Just a thought - did you get the brushed titanium or were you one of the few...
Thanks. Was that the Black sailcloth or the olive?
Hi all,
I'm pondering purchasing a BP Bathyscaphe.
On paper I liked everything about this watch when it first came out - the case size (and thickness), the simple dial, the narrow bezel. I...
PAM190. It's the only Panerai that I've ever really wanted - hopefully one day I'll manage to bag one!
Favourite 'good' movies:
The Right Stuff
On The Waterfront
The Hustler
Apocalypse Now
Godfather Part 2
The Third Man
Absolute defining film of all time:
Agree with this - bought one last year and it has been one of my most enjoyed/worn watches since. However, I do agree with various comments about Nomos becoming (relatively) pricey. If I was...
Completed.
Just encouraged my son to read Hyperion - one of my favourite books of all time.
In the last few months I've read Snow Crash (Neal Stephenson) and the Forever War (Joe Haldeman) both of which were...
To me the UN is the pick of the three.
I used to really enjoy the blended Hibiki 17 YO. (the 12 YO was pretty decent too) but Japanese whisky has just rocketed in price over the last few years - it might be great whisky but not sure it's...
Hi,
I did exactly that about 5 years ago - and back then it was an eye watering £1700 for the bracelet (although the strap changing kit, complete with a rubber dive strap was included in that...
I'm another who uses a Rancilio machine and like Pellini No.82 beans when I can get hold of them.
I've also had a go at cold brewing using espresso beans recently and have to say that it does...
So many to choose from and a lot of great one's already mentioned.
Not necessarily the most memorable but as a piece of technical film-making genius I think that the 8 minute single-take opening...
Received this on Monday - Been wearing it all week...

Utterly awesome watch and agree with all the comments about its versatility. Congratulations on making a brilliant buying decision :icon_biggrin:.
+1 for finding a decent osteopath.
My wife's an osteopath so I confess that I am biased, but I do know that she sees and fixes a lot of clients with the sort of symptoms you are describing -...
