    Re: Red Sub

Original or not, red subs still command good money these days. Especially if it is in good condition and comes with the provenance to match. The bracelet and insert are no biggies, but try sourcing...

Re: New arrivals! - Much overdue post

    Don't mention it Peter! :)

Oddly enough, 2 years on, both of those watches in that review have now gone on to better homes. i suppose once you go vintage, there's no turning back! :D

Re: Sub 16800 transitional *with pic*

Sounds like you got a stellar deal! :)

The pearl would have been tritium. Replacement NOS tritium pearls can be found sometimes. Someone wrote a mini review on the 16800 here... That particular...

Re: Sub 16800 transitional *with pic*

Ah thanks for that. I've read some of the earlier 16800s came with a silver date wheel like the 1680s. Luminova pearl? Perhaps you could try sourcing a NOS tritium pearl. I really love the coffee...

    Re: speedmaster i.d help

That one is in fact the speedy 'reduced' with the slightly older dial configuration with the numbers indicating the minutes around the dial. The newer version of the speedy reduced has a dial closer...

Re: New arrivals! - Much overdue post

The speedmaster ref 376.0822 has been known by a number of names, most notably the "grail", coined by the late Chuck Maddox. You can read more about this particular Lemania 5100 / Omega c.1045 based...

    Nice pic Mark! :)

I'm considering getting an english date wheel installed at some point also. Are they easy to source?

Re: New arrivals! - Much overdue post

    Thanks guys! :D

Really do love the SD. I'm a big fan of the thicker case and higher profile. The last one I had (Ben's) had a really nicely patina-ed tritium dial. Here's a quick pic:

    Vintage Precista

I came across this beauty at one of my favourite vintage watch dealers here in Singapore. Didn't ask about it, but I thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone here is interested. :)

Very much overdue now, but I'd like to share with you guys two of my recent acquisitions. Some of you may perhaps remember me from my short stint in London which ended earlier this year. Have now...

    Re: Sub 16800 transitional

Perhaps too late, but in this part of the world, they're going for just under GBP3,000. I'd add abit in to account for the recent service.

    Cheers!

  14. Re: Some shipping abroad and Paypal advice please

Where are you shipping to? I can think of 2 likely reasons why someone would want to do things this way; either he has available funds in his paypal account; or he's using a credit card to fund the...

I have a slightly smaller wrist than you and agonised over this decision for a long while. Go try 'em on for size and chances are you'll know straight away which one you prefer. I like the look of...

    Re: Omega bracelet clasp problem

Fairly common problem. The retaining 'thingy' inside the clasp has bent out of shape over the years. Can be bent back and fixed easily enough, or so I'm told. You can do it yourself.

I'd love a 376.0822 myself. There are a couple on ebay at the moment, but not cheap!

    Re: WIS in Singapore?

    Hi there!

Quite a few places in Singapore to see nice watches, but these are by far my favourite:

  23. Re: Some UK Panerai prices (new models) now confirmed

Ouch... that is steep. Interested in the 320 but not sure I'd pay the extra £800 for the GMT. Though i believe it also comes with the extra power reserve indicator feature on the back ala the PAM190....

    Re: Speedmaster 1450 Bracelet

The 1450 has achieved somewhat of a grail status for many Speedmaster fans due to it's solid construction, vintage look and relative rarity. These bracelets were made only for a couple years in the...
  25. Re: Anywhere in the UK have stock of short OEM Panerai straps?
