Is it a given that the length of viable "lume" differs across watches? Is it the quality of lume used or the amount used or something like that (i.e. is there something to look out for when buying)?

It's often been simply the bezels that put me off Vostoks but this thread is a real inspiration. Great stuff here. The comparison photos in particular are a terrific resource to get ideas from.
