Gentlemen,
I bought a second hand PRS-10 and while wearing it for the first time I noticed the crystal fogging. A careful examination led to a cracked crystal (long crack around the rim - it was...
I´ve been for a long time a fan of mechanical watches, but lately I have grown a bit tired of the quirks - and expense - associated with such type of movements. After aquiring a PRS18Q I...
I agree, there are plenty of vintage watches ou there with very simple designs, very elegant and decent sizes. I am appalled by the monstrosities that are still being sold by a lot of boutique...
I had a PRS14 but had to sell it some years ago, but I would buy a "more or less" similar watch.
I believe that the PRS18 (that I intend to purchase soon - quartz or auto?) seems to show a great...
Abomination?
An abomination that should be an option I would buy one. Even polished should look good (very vintage look).
Extreme skx031 mod:

No. The dial are incompatible (diferent dial feet location).
I wonce installed a SKX031 dial on a 6309-729 diver and, althought it looked super, the alignment with the date window was not good...
You wont have seconds indexes.I thought about that also. But I will show you soon how to do it!
I intend to do some major mods to this seiko model.
(you have good taste  )
No news about this very, very promising... promise?
Thank you for your kind answer. It will be better to keep it.
Oh my! I never thought this would mess so many delicate souls!
Please, Eddie, do remove this topic or else someboby might get a rash...
Or an heart attack.
Should I sell this?
I barely wear it.

I modded a Citizen diver wreck and I used hands I got from ebay and a 200m dial from the Philipines of very bad quality. Avoid Philippine stuff, if you can. I advise you to go for the hands on ebay...
One of our friends (from Austria) did a "brushing" to his PRS-18A and it looked super. I will buy one if that finish is available. Brushed or polished. If I need something dull, I´ll get a Casio or...
Seems to be of better quality than that of a Caravelle, of which a I have a few (divers). The caseback also is not of the caravelle type.
The bezel has the 60 minute index lumed.
My 6309-729 PMMM...

Friends,
I need help to identify the model of this watch case:

Fully agree with you 100% he is just a complete and utter fool[/quote]
I beg to differ.
When I saw that I cheered. A lot of people in Portugal did, and more than a few did also cheer.
A man...
Check the Necronomicon.
Just cinnamon on mine, please.
This is a field that, like many others tends to be viewed with an almost exclusive anglosaxon perspective. I guess it is a prorrogative of those in charge.
Anyway, not everything ended and started...
I used to dislike what I thought to be monstrosities (sp?). In this case, I was wrong. VERY confortable and a concept that deserves to be revisited.
...
This project is, after all, for real or is it a another "no" idea?
Great post. But I will only go so far as fitting a 6309 movement , IF I can find a movement holder and a decent bezel. If someone has them, please do let me know.
"1984"
I´ve read a lot of books on war and totalitarism but I never read something as depressing (yet enlightning) as "1984". As always, the books is far better than the movie.
I am also reading...
