Take pity on what is more than likely a stupid question, but I'm trying to set my Frankenmonster. Any tips on setting it as I can't stop the 2nds hand ?
Cheers
Paul
Has it gone up ? I can no longer reply to sales posts, but I could a few weeks ago.
Paul
As the second hand don't stop how do I set it accurately ?
Cheers

I've just got a Frankenmonster and find the Lume outstanding, but what do others see as a good measure of Lume ?
I see a lot of adds and reviews of various watches claiming they have outstanding...
I've just found it after having lost it for the past 2 years, and it then turns up in a plant pot !
It's a mid size 4205 0150 Seiko diver from 1982. It still works but is in need of sone tlc. The...
Cheers Mario. I know what you mean, I think it deserves to be restored.
Now I need to find someone to do it.
Paul
Thanks Mario. I gather they don't fetch much money ? The only reason I ask is that I would like to get it restored and need to know if it's worth it ?

I remember buying a Seiko diver, head only, about 2 years ago and ever since haven't been able to find it. My other half was tidying up today and found it in a plant pot, that's kids for ya !
Not...
Cheers Mario. I'd the 811x expensive and hard to find ?

I would like to get myself a vintage Seiko diver for my 40th but have no idea on what model to search for that would have been made in 1971.
Any tips on finding a 1971 Seiko Diver ?
Cheers

Really nice, and you have inspired me to get a birth year watch for my 40th. Can I ask on how or where you search for a Seiko from a specific year, ie 1971 ?
Is a hacking movement more expensive ?
The reason I ask is that I sold a hacking 15 yr old Seiko diver for £90.
What are my choices as I'm after hacking Seiko diver ?
Monsters are nice, just sure of the bezel.
My 007 doesn't seem to have that bright a lume either, is this normal ?
I wish. Forgot to add, needs to be in the same price bracket or nor far off.
On another note, what's it called when the second hand sweeps and not ticks at every second marker ?
I've just got a very nice 007 and love it to bits. Is there another Seiko diver with the same circular markets on the face but just a little chunkier ?
Paul
Pm me, but I think it will be out of my price range at mo
There were loads of Seiko divers about a few months ago, don't seem to be many about on SC lately though. Is no one getting rid ?
Is there anywhere in the UK that supplies them ?
I know Creation get good right ups but would prefer a uk supplier.
How does the 009 differ in relation to a 007 ?
Thats a lotta watch.[/quote]
Now if it hand solid hands that would be a superb watch .
009 is very nice, just what I'm after. Are they still being made ?
I've got a 20 yr old Seiko diver with a pepsi bezel which I love. I like it for the accuracy, face and sound build quality I just wish it was a bit bigger. Can anyone recommend a decent, modern Seiko...
Cheers Global. Mine is about 20 years old so maybe due for a change.
Paul
It has been in the draw for a fair few months, and after a few shakes it now keeps perfect time, however when pressing the power indicator button the second hand keeps stopping at the 2 o'clock. Does...
