Since acquiring this watch my inexplicable apprehension of mud puddles has completely subsided.

Wheeler Dealers is one of my favorite shows on our Velocity Network, which broadcasts it. But I don't tune in to watch Mike Brewer say "hold out your hand", I watch it to learn a boatload about car...

By a wide margin my favorite is my Citizen Skyhawk A-T.

I bought one recently. I can't believe how much I use it and I'm wondering how I got along without one. Mine came with a straight pin end and a narrow fork end on the other. I bought a wide fork end...
LOL, guess US spellcheck doesn't work so well on British words.

I've had one since last year, I have relegated it back to a exercising watch (cycling, occasional jogging) and that is about it.
It still isn't ideal. If I wear it cycling I have to lift my arm to...
This.

Interesting topic and it got me to thinking.
I remember the first new watch I ever purchased at a retailer years and years ago, had to be the late 60's. I seem to recall it was a Waltham. It was...
For some reason this watch looks oddly out of proportion to me, maybe it's the bezel width. At any rate, not feeling the love on this one

When I did a recent transfer it took a while to complete, I think it was about 24-36 hours. It's always seemed to take that much time, although I haven't been transferring money out to other accounts...
What he said. Mine was the same way. A couple of dots of silicone grease and the crown screw down is as slick as can be.
Hi Mark,
If you look closely at the picture of my SRP777 (no suffix at all) which I posted above you will discover a THIRD dial. It says "MOV'T JAPAN". They are the only ones I have seen here in...
Actually, I think there must be THREE versions of the SRP777, assuming there really is a "J" version, along with the "K". My watch is a SRP777 with no suffix at all.

Here's the thing on the chapter ring issue as I see it. I have had two SRP777s as I returned the first for having the widespread "bezel dent" issue at the 12 O'clock pip. I did a post on that earlier...
To update;
I love this watch and it is a daily wearer. It's a 6309 reborn, but better. The one single thing I like about it the most is that it is a couple of millimeters bigger than the 6309 was....

Based on your suggestion, I gave it a try. I Put a tiny dab on the end of a wooden toothpick, applied it to the crown threads and it smoothed right out.
Thanks so much!

I finally got a replacement from Seiko USA for my first watch that had the badly dimpled bezel problem. This one is pretty nice. This one is the Prospex SRP777.

Certainly wasn't the case with me. My watch has the dented bezel and it was shipped to me directly from the Seiko USA headquarters in New Jersey.
Aren't these "Turtle" models assembled in China. Hmmmmm...............
Here in the US we may not have a choice between J and K. My SRP777 had no suffix at all.

Misaligned chapter rings is not all. Check out my Turtle Bezel Dent thread on this forum. Way too many people are receiving the watch in this condition directly from Seiko USA.
Some sort of tool...
Yes Mark, it is. I was so much looking forward to this watch. I'm a little put off by the whole thing.
Truth be told, I called Seiko in New Jersey and tried to tell them about the issues people...
ed,
I corrected my original post. My box and watch hang tag both say simply "SRP777", with no suffix.

Hi Mark,
Of course I don't know for sure, but my theory is it's a systemic manufacturing tooling mark.
The lume match is actually better than the photo depicts for some reason.
